Digital Marketing Enablement team is seeking an experienced Software Engineer with 5+ years of expertise in Java-based enterprise applications and Python computer vision solutions. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience building scalable microservices architectures and implementing modern DevOps practices to deliver high-quality software solutions. You will be an integral part of the Digital Marketing Enablement Team development team, focusing on design and build of web-based performant solutions for Visa's Marketing Strategy to solve business problems. The role is for a self-motivated individual with strong software engineering skills and open systems technologies expertise.

As a Software Engineer, the candidate will have the opportunity to build web solutions and influence design decisions. The individual will work closely with Product Management and other developers on the team to design, develop and iterate our platform/applications to prepare for broad deployment.

Primary Responsibilities

• Collaborate with business units and technical staff to understand business requirements for use in designing appropriate solutions.
• Design and develop robust backend services using Java and Spring Boot framework.
• Build and maintain microservices architecture with proper service decomposition and scalability patterns.
• Implement RESTful APIs and ensure seamless service-to-service communication across distributed systems.
• Develop computer vision applications using Python and OpenCV libraries for marketing analytics and automation.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following industry best practices and coding standards.
• Perform comprehensive code reviews and ensure adherence to architectural guidelines and security standards.
• Support continuous improvement by investigating alternatives and emerging technologies and presenting these for architectural review.
• Participate in agile development processes and contribute to sprint planning and retrospectives.
• Collaborate with DevOps teams to implement CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment strategies.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
•2+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelors degree, OR 5+ years of relevant work experience

Preferred Qualifications
•3 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or more than 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD)
•BS or MS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field.
•At least 5 years of software development experience in enterprise environments, with minimum of 3-4 years of hands-on Java and Python experience.
•Strong design and coding skills with Java/J2EE and proficiency in object-oriented programming principles.
•Solid experience in enterprise frameworks like Spring, Spring Boot, Spring Security, and Spring Data.
•Hands-on experience with Python development and computer vision libraries like OpenCV for image processing and analysis.
•Mandatory experience with n-tier web application development, RESTful API design, and microservices architecture patterns.
•Experience working with microservices and containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes for deployment and orchestration.
•Object-oriented analysis and design using common design patterns and architectural principles.
•Ability to work efficiently in an agile environment and participate as part of an on-call rotation duty among other engineers.
•Experience with version control systems (GIT), project management tools (Jira), and CI/CD tools (Git Hub Actions). Active participation in Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery pipeline implementation.
•Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
•Experience with Generative AI models/tools and machine learning frameworks will be a significant plus.
•Proficiency in DevOps methodologies, utilization of monitoring tools, and performance optimization strategies.
