Director, Cloud Engineering & DevOps (Tarrytown, NY)

Regeneron Genetics Center, LLC seeks a Director, Cloud Engineering & DevOps (Tarrytown, NY) to lead the Cloud Engineering and DevOps function and manage all the operational processes. Engineering solutions, processes, and tools that drive self-service, automation, standardization, and seamless operations. Apply industry standards and best practices to ensure system and application security. Engineer and support continuous security compliance and cost optimization solutions. Drive best practices, SOP documentation, and infrastructure as code for the RGC Cloud. Deploy and manage monitoring, metrics, and logging capabilities on RGC’s cloud engineering platforms. Design and Engineer tooling and solutions to manage life cycle of DevSecOps for AWS hosted infrastructure. Interact with key stakeholders to clearly define and iterate on requirements. 4 Direct Reports in the positions of Principal Cloud DevOps Engineer, Lead Cloud DevOps Engineer (2 direct reports), and Lead Site reliability Engineer. Local telecommuting permitted up to 2 days per week. 5% domestic travel required.

SALARY RANGE: $255,944.00 - $336,600.00 per year

Job Requirements:

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science or related field, and 10 years of Cloud engineering and operations experience. Must have 5 years of AWS experience. Must have experience with: Building self-service platforms for research analytics compute and deep learning; Building and managing High performance Computing and Data infrastructure platforms; Core AWS services EC2, EBS, S3, ELB, RDS, VPC, CloudFront, and IAM; Monitoring tools like Splunk, Grafana, and Prometheus; Linux administration, CI/CD, and containers; Data and containers orchestration tools such as Kubernetes and Airflow; Technical knowledge in managing multiple cloud platforms such as AWS or Google Cloud; People management; Building and managing IT support function; Implementing Infrastructure as a code, configuration management tools like terraform, CloudFormation, ansible, and chef; Programing in python and bash required for DevOps; Technical knowledge in implementing cloud security controls and cybersecurity; and Web applications hosting frameworks. 5% domestic travel required.
