Job Summary

We are looking for a talented and experienced technical lead to join our AI Center of Excellence and lead the development, deployment, and scaling of AI and machine learning models. This role will involve a combination of applied AI, data science, and software engineering and will focus on building tools, frameworks, and operational workflows for the AI-related products our team is delivering.

You will play a key role in establishing our ML Ops/AI Ops architecture and driving adoption of best practices in deployment and monitoring of solutions. Building strong connections with the various stakeholders we support throughout the organization and bringing a high degree of ownership and initiative-taking will be the key to success in this role.

Essential Functions

  • Design, test, and build robust AI/ML Ops frameworks to enable deployment, versioning, monitoring, and reproducibility of models in production.
  • Develop shared tooling and pipelines to increase the speed and the quality of model development across our applied AI/ML team.
  • Guide and lead the technical architecture for AI/ML systems, collaborating with data scientists, data engineers, and platform teams across the organization.
  • Directly contribute to high-impact, high-priority AI solutions where more advanced software development expertise is needed.
  • Research and evaluate the latest trends and best practices in LLMs and other emerging AI technologies.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to define the requirements and specifications for LLMs and other generative AI solutions.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to other AI developers, data scientists, and engineers in the AI Center of Excellence, especially as it pertains to best practices in CI/CD, GitOps, cloud-native ML workflows, and software engineering.

Qualifications

Required

  • Master's Degree or equivalent in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field. Similar certified online education or professional experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis. A bachelor's degree with extensive experience and exceptional expertise may be considered.
  • 10 years of relevant experience in health care, data science, statistics, or a related field. Proven experience in managing and leading data science teams, overseeing projects, and driving strategic initiatives. Equivalent demonstrated proficiency may also be considered.
  • Deep familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, version control, and infrastructure as code practices.
  • Experienced with ML Ops principles and tooling.
  • Experienced in multiple cloud platforms, such as AWS, Azure, Snowflake or Google Cloud.
  • Strong experience in developing and deploying software, data science, or analytics solutions.
  • Strong systems thinking and an ability to balance architecture, implementation, and enablement.
  • Ability to translate ambiguous problems into structured, scalable solutions.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated success coaching or mentoring others.
  • Passionate about AI and innovation, and eager to learn and grow.

Preferred
