Tyto Athene is searching for a highly motivated Data Analyst (Power BI) to support analytics initiatives within the CTO organization. This role transforms complex datasets into meaningful visual insights through Power BI dashboards and reports, empowering real-time operational and strategic decisions within mission-critical environments.
The ideal candidate will be skilled in aggregating complex datasets and creating impactful and beautiful visualizations for multiple federal clients.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, publish and maintain Power BI dashboards for federal program reporting and visualization needs.
- Create data models using Power Query and DAX across structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data sources, including relational and non-relational databases.
- Analyze data trends and present findings in a clear, actionable format for internal and external clients.
- Integrate data from multiple federal systems and third-party sources using APIs, ETL tools and flat files.
- Collaborate with engineers, PMs, and analysts to define metrics and track mission outcomes.
- Create automated reporting solutions that reduce manual effort and increase data accuracy. Ensure accuracy, integrity and compliance of data.
- Maintain documentation of dashboards, data models and business rules to support audits and knowledge transfer. Assist in developing training materials and leading knowledge transfer sessions.
- Conduct stakeholder interviews to refine reporting requirements and ensure alignment with evolving program needs.
- Collaborate with program management and finance teams to support performance metrics, KPIs and earned value reporting.
Required:
- Strong knowledge of DAX, Power Query, and data modeling best practices. (Also considering candidates with strong expertise in alternative analytics platforms, such as Tableau and Looker).
- Experience with relational databases such as SQL Server, PostgresSQL and MySQL. Experienced in government cloud environment with elevated security requirements.
- Experience integrating real-time reporting dashboards into Microsoft SharePoint and single page web applications.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Outstanding ability to create and display stunning visualizations that resonate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- US citizenship is required.
Desired:
- 8-15 years of technology experience and 2-5 years of Power BI development experience.
- Experience working with the Federal government is strongly desired.
- Familiarity with federal data standards (e.g. FISMA, NIST, 508) is a plus.
- Security clearance is a plus but not required.
- Compensation is unique to each candidate and relative to the skills and experience they bring to the position. The salary range for this position is typically $130K-$160K. This does not guarantee a specific salary as compensation is based upon multiple factors such as education, experience, certifications, and other requirements, and may fall outside of the above-stated range.
