Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Data Scientist to join our IT team. In this role, you will drive the evolution and optimization of FMG's data strategies along with providing advanced analytical support to various departments across the organization, ensuring the effective use of data-driven insights to inform business decisions. You will also mentor junior data scientists, lead analytical projects, and serve as a key escalation point for complex data-related issues.

The Team

You will be part of the "Analytics & AI" function within the IT area, with responsibilities for:

• Ensuring the prioritization, prototyping, and scalability of needs in Analytics, Data Science, and AI;
• Regulating the industrialization of use cases, the lifecycle of models, and end-to-end technological evolution;
• Ensuring that the development of solutions in Analytics and AI conforms to security and infrastructure constraints;
• Exploring and evolving solutions and methodologies in the fields of Analytics, AI, Optimization, and Advanced Visualization.

What you will do

Reporting directly to the team leader:

• You will collaborate with business functions, exploring business opportunities to translate into use cases and understand how and if AI can be applied to achieve greater and faster business growth.
• You will analyze and solve optimization problems, develop predictive models in a complex and heterogeneous context, utilizing Machine Learning methodologies and neural networks.
• You will manage the lifecycle of models, from prototyping to production deployment.
• You will support the team in adopting innovative solutions and best practices in terms of automation (MLOps / LLMOps) that enhance team efficiency.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in a related field and a minimum of 5 years of experience in Data Science or Machine Learning Engineering is required. In addition, 3 years of other IT experience required, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
• Ability to apply data-driven methodologies to business problems.
• Proficiency with statistical models and Machine Learning algorithms (classification, clustering, forecasting, recommendation, reinforcement learning) as well as lifecycle management methodologies for models.
• Expertise in data wrangling and preparation techniques: exploratory data analysis, profiling & cleaning, feature selection, feature engineering, text processing.
• Experience with programming languages (Python, SQL), Data Science libraries (Pandas, Scikit-learn, Gradient Boosting, SHAP, PyTorch), and data visualization libraries (Matplotlib, Seaborn, Altair, Power BI).
• Familiarity with the Microsoft Azure ecosystem and Microsoft Azure DevOps.
• Knowledge of data analysis tools offered by Microsoft Azure and basic experience in creating dashboards using Power BI.
• Proven experience in utilizing large language models (LLMs) such as GPT and Mistral, and proficiency with frameworks like LangChain and LangGraph.
