FLIR Integrated Imaging Solutions (IIS), a division of Teledyne FLIR, is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of machine vision digital cameras. Our cameras are vital components in the fast growing, transformative industries of robotics, autonomous vehicles, industrial automation, virtual reality and medical/life sciences.

Job Summary:
FLIR Integrated Imaging Solutions (IIS), a division of FLIR systems, headquartered in the Greater Vancouver area, BC, addresses mainly the growing market of Machine Vision for the largest part of our activities. We provide to machinery manufacturers or system integrators imaging products and solutions that are used for quality inspection, measurement, traceability, vision guided automation and robotics, as well as intelligent traffic systems.

Our Software Development team is a group of diverse, fun individuals passionate about software development, testing and automation. As leaders in the Machine Vision industry, we strive to keep up to date with the latest industry standards and prioritize quality in every aspect of our work. We are looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test Co-op to work with us on test case execution and automation improvements for our Machine Vision SDK and GUI components, for a minimum of 8-months.

About you:
Your passion for technology is evident from your actions and easy to see when discussing your personal projects and recent activities. You show an eagerness to learn and aim to better yourself through independent learning and collaboration with a team. You enjoy a high degree of autonomy when working and have a genuine desire to learn from and support your team.
The Role:
Our team is self-organizing and highly collaborative. We believe in others good intentions and approach team interactions with compassion and empathy. Each member of the team has direct input in the stories and tasks we commit to. We strongly believe in the Scrum methodology and are constantly improving ourselves and our processes to make sure what we're doing works for us. You will work closely with your team and stakeholders to plan, develop, and improve software testing and processes for our main Machine Vision SDK, GUI applications and utilities, and corresponding camera drivers. As you gain experience, you will grow your skills and expand your responsibilities beyond
manual testing and automation to also include test development. To stimulate creativity and innovation we offer up to two days of “innovation time” per month to explore new technologies or product ideas. Excited about a newly discovered technology, process or other improvement? Share it with your fellow engineers during “demo days”; choose to give a presentation, run a live demo, or suggest a new format that best suits your needs.
Technologies we use:
Our tests are written primarily in C++, as well as in C, C#/.Net and Python to match the languages supported by our SDK. We support Windows, Linux and macOS and use various scripting languages to run our test automation infrastructure.

We are interested in candidates from any background so long as you have some technical experience and an eagerness
to learn. Here is a list of some of the other technologies we use:
