Position Overview:

Boeing India Engineering & Technology Center (BIETC) is seeking a Lead AI Developer – Digital Aviation Solutions with a minimum of 10 to 12 years of experience in software development, including over 5 years of hands-on experience in AI/ML development. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building, optimizing, and scaling generative AI models that drive operational efficiencies, safety, and enhanced customer experiences in aviation. A strong background in Python development and familiarity with generative AI technologies is preferred.

Position Responsibilities:

• Generative AI Model Development: Build, implement, and deploy generative AI models and solutions tailored to aviation use cases, such as predictive maintenance and flight optimization.

• Full-Cycle Development: Work across the entire AI model lifecycle—data collection, preprocessing, model design, training, testing, and deployment.

• Scalability & Performance Optimization: Develop scalable and efficient AI solutions that can process large volumes of data in real-time.

• Collaboration & Cross-Functional Support: Collaborate with data scientists, product owners, and engineers to design and implement AI solutions that address critical business challenges in aviation.

• AI Integration & Deployment: Work with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) to deploy AI models to production environments.

• AI Experimentation & Continuous Improvement: Stay up to date with advancements in AI and continuously improve AI models and workflows.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• A bachelor’s degree (B.Tech) or higher is REQUIRED.

• Minimum of 10 to 12 years of experience in software development, including over 5 years of hands-on experience in AI/ML development.

• Proficiency in Python and Java Fullstack, with experience in machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow and PyTorch.

• Expertise in designing and implementing end-to-end workflows for generative models. Must have experience with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), , prompt engineering and fine-tuning pre-trained models is essential. The candidate should also be adept at creating data pipelines, evaluating model performance using relevant metrics and addressing ethical considerations in AI. Familiarity with deployment strategies and workflow orchestration tools is a plus.

• Expertise in large language models (LLMs) and generative AI frameworks with experience in applying them to practical use cases.

• Strong expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).

• Experience with data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model evaluation in production environments.

• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• Experience or strong interest in the aviation industry, particularly in areas such as Geospatial Data Management and Aviation Data Integration.

• Familiarity with AI-driven geospatial analysis and working with satellite imagery is a plus.

• Understanding of regulatory requirements and safety standards within aviation is a plus.

Typical Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, with 11+ years of relevant work experience. Master's degree with 10+ years' experience.
