Summary of the Position
The SAP Materials Master Data Analyst is responsible for the timely creation and management of material master data within SAP S/4HANA, supporting engineering, production, procurement, and other related departments. This role ensures accurate and consistent material data, drives continuous improvements, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to support business operations and strategic goals.
Location: On-site, Michigan City, IN

Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or 3–5 years of relevant master data management experience
- Experience with SAP ECC and/or S/4HANA, with a focus on material master data management
- Experienced in using ERP systems across relevant modules such as Materials Management (MM), Warehouse Management (WM), and Production Planning (PP)
- Understanding of related SAP modules: Inventory Management, MRP, Quality Management, EWM, and Warehouse Management
- Strong understanding of data governance principles with proven ability to perform data validation, cleansing, and standardization to maintain high data integrity
- Knowledgeable in Bills of Material (BOMs), including how materials are structured and interact across production and supply chain functions
- Familiar with master data lifecycle processes, including creation, extension, modification, and deletion of material records in a controlled environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Skilled in Microsoft Excel, including the use of pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, complex formulas, and basic macros for managing and analyzing large data sets
- Familiarity with material master data processes and governance best practices
- Understanding of Lean principles and their application in data and process management
- Strong analytical, investigative, and documentation skills
- Strong attention to detail and proven ability to manage large data sets accurately
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proactive problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the creation, extension, and maintenance of material master data in SAP S/4HANA in compliance with corporate data standards and policies
- Implement and monitor data quality processes, including data cleansing, validation, and standardization to ensure accuracy and integrity
- Identify, propose, and support continuous improvements in material data processes and leverage SAP capabilities to streamline operations
- Collaborate with procurement, inventory, engineering, manufacturing, and finance to gather data requirements and ensure alignment with business needs
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of data management processes
- Train internal teams on best practices for SAP material master data usage
- Investigate and resolve data-related issues and inconsistencies that impact business operations, providing timely and effective solutions
- Generate and analyze reports related to material data to support strategic and operational decision-making
