The Opportunity

This position is an onsite opportunity in the Abbott Diabetes Care Division. We are helping people with Diabetes lead healthier, happier lives.   As a global leader in diabetes care, Abbott is constantly working to deliver the highest quality products and unwavering support to our customers.  Consistent and accurate glucose monitoring is the foundation of any diabetes management plan, so we’re committed to continuous improvement in the way patients and professionals measure, track and analyze glucose levels.

As a Business Data Analyst, you will be responsible for building and maintaining dashboards that support ADC Operations and use advanced analytical tools to drive business insights. You will leverage data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI to create interactive and insightful dashboards. The candidate will analyze, understand, and present solutions for complex business problems using statistical software like R or Python. This role will also assist in developing operational systems by technical teams, ensuring data integrity and accuracy throughout the process. You will be expected to work cross-functionally and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical business partners, translating complex data findings into actionable business strategies. Additionally, the candidate will manage SQL databases for querying and data management, and apply ETL processes to support data warehousing needs.

This is an onsite opportunity in Alameda, CA.

What You’ll Do

  • Design, develop, optimize, and maintain data architecture and pipelines for analyzing large data sets and identify patterns and relationships present results in a cohesive, intuitive, and simple manner to functional stakeholder.
  • Partner with cross-functional Quality, Manufacturing, and R&D Teams and worldwide Business Unit Teams to define and / or fulfill data reporting requirements on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Able to Integrate data from multiple sources and formats, ensuring seamless data flow and consistency.
  • Solve complex data problems to deliver insights that help the organization achieve its goals.
  • Able to examine data sets and determine the best end-to-end analysis plan to address key business questions and proactively identifies opportunities for significant operational, process or system level product improvements for the business partner.
  • Work closely with the functional stakeholders to understand the domain and iteratively refine analyses.
  • Design and implement data security and access control mechanisms to protect the data from unauthorized use.
  • Independently manages and consults in multiple complex projects working with stakeholders to define business questions, requirements, timelines, objectives, and success criteria to address needs.
  • Provide learning and educational pathways for team members.
  • Codify best practices for future reuse in the form of accessible, reusable patterns, templates, and code bases to facilitate data capturing and management. • Design, develop, and deploy Power BI reports and dashboards to provide business insights.
  • Create and maintain data models, ensuring they are compatible with data standards.
  • Work with business stakeholders and subject matter experts to understand their requirements and deliver effective BI solutions.
  • Document processes and methodologies used in developing Power BI solutions.
  • Develop and deliver training sessions for end-users to ensure effective use of Power BI tools and reports.

Experience You’ll Bring

Required

  • Bachelors Degree in Science, Medical Technology or equivalent technical degree
  • Minimum 3 years Relevant experience in a related area such as R&D, Operations, Technical Product Development, or Quality in a healthcare industry. - experimental design and data interpretation preferred.
  • Writing, editing and managing engineering and technical documentation utilized in the
  • development of new products and improvement of existing products.
  • Developing spreadsheets or databases for the capture, assembly, and graphical
  • presentation of metrics is required. - non-product application validation
  • Process establishment including metrics definition, statistical analysis and analytical
  • techniques Experience in complaint handling, operation or service of diagnostic
  • instrumentation, or medical technology is required.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Good working knowledge

Preferred

  • Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar
  • Strong knowledge of SQL for database querying and management
  • Experience with statistical software such as R or Python for data analysis
  • Ability to interpret complex data sets and provide actionable insights
  • Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and ETL processes
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

The base pay for this position is

$86,700.00 – $173,300.00
