Who You'll Work With:

We are looking for a New York based Quantitative Portfolio Analyst to help manage risk, portfolio construction, and alpha for a growing portfolio team within the Emerging Markets group.  The quant will also help the team leverage quantamental insights by maintaining and improving our current quant model, developing new signals, and running optimizations for the portfolio.  The analyst will work closely with PMs, fundamental research analysts, and other quantitative research analysts across multiple investment disciplines within EM equities. Research will be leveraged in active equity portfolios which are driven by a unique combination of fundamental and quantitative research.

What You'll Do:

The quantitative portfolio analyst will be responsible for delivering investable research insights to the portfolio team. Projects will span all aspects of investing including research, portfolio management, trading, and risk management emphasizing opportunities to make better and faster decisions. Specific responsibilities may include:

  • Help the team truly leverage quantamental insights to improve performance and efficiency.

  • Introduce AI-driven and machine learning techniques to model and forecast different regimes to improve long-term performance.

  • Develop screening tools and signals to help the portfolio team generate new investment opportunities more efficiently.

  • Leverage natural language processing and machine learning to monitor EM capital markets to identify risks to portfolios.

  • Examine the portfolio on a daily basis for risks and opportunities to improve portfolio construction and expected return profiles.

  • Understand and explain performance using custom attribution methodologies.

  • Develop marketing slides to help with the commercialization of the products.

What We're Looking For:

The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in finance, data science, quantitative research or business intelligence. 

  • 1-2+ years of experience working with datasets and be well-versed in big data technologies.

  • Strong statistical, mathematical background.

  • Experience and interest in finance. 

  • Strong interest in learning and applying both fundamental and quantitative approaches.

  • Fluency in with visualization tools and infrastructure such as PowerBI or Bloomberg.

  • Proficiency in data analysis (Python Libraries).

  • Expert use of SQL or Snowflake databases.

In accordance with applicable law, the minimum and maximum base annual salary for this role is as follows:

Base Salary Range: $115,000-$150,000

Actual base salaries may vary based on factors including but not limited to education, training, experience, past performance, and other job-related factors. Base salary is just one component of total compensation at AB, which may include, depending on eligibility, commissions, year-end incentive compensation, short- and long-term incentives and Department-specific awards. In addition AB provides a variety of benefits to eligible employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays, sick and vacation time off.
