ABOUT THE TEAM: 

Are you passionate about software and data, and eager to contribute to groundbreaking aerospace projects? Our Data Engineering team is at the heart of data access, processing, and visualisation for the engineering and operational data that drives our company forward. We collaborate closely with every department, from R&D on the new Neutron rocket to manufacturing for Space Systems and Electron. Our team provides essential tools and platforms that support various critical functions:

  • Automated Engineering Pipelines: Generating automated reports and insights on the factory floor, during launch operations and flight data reviews, empowering manufacturing and operations engineers to make the right decision.
  • Data Visualization: Develop and maintain the tools used by the whole company to access and visualize data from their tests and operations, ranging from space missions to Neutron rocket engine development.

YOUR MISSION:

As an intern, you will play a crucial role in participating in software development, building a data platform, and automating data processes across the company. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Software Development: Contribute to the development and enhancement of the team's tools and platforms.
  • Build Robust Production Data Pipelines: Set up reliable automations for production data processing in collaboration with other departments, ensuring data integrity and availability.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

We are looking for a current student in good academic standing in one of the following fields:

  • Computer Engineering
  • Computer Science
  • Software Engineering

Additionally, the ideal candidate will have:

  • Proficiency in Python: Strong coding skills, experience in package development, working in a large code base.
  • Knowledge of Data Processing Practices: Experience with ETL processes, data plotting, and analysis.
  • Familiarity with Linux: Comfortable working in a Linux environment.
  • Development Best Practices: Understanding of git version control and development workflows.
  • Agile Processes: Experience with Agile methodologies and scoping work effectively.

REQUIREMENT: 

Available to work full-time, on-site for a minimum of 12 consecutive weeks beginning November 2025.
