About the role:
Modular is building a next-generation AI infrastructure platform that unifies the many application frameworks and hardware backends, simplifying deployment for AI production teams and accelerating innovation for AI researchers and hardware developers.
We are looking for a Developer Advocate to evangelize Modular’s GPU products with our user base and developer community. This involves creating user guides, writing blog posts, giving talks at conferences, leading workshops, and creating additional material that enables a community of creators.

What you will do:
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams to create informative tutorials, explainers, and examples that help users understand how the MAX Platform and Mojo Programming Language can leverage GPU power to achieve their goals efficiently.
- Write blog posts and create educational content to inform prospective and current customers about the value and functionality of Modular products.
- Engage with the community across platforms like GitHub, Discord, Twitter, and LinkedIn by facilitating discussions, answering questions, and providing support.
- Act as the voice of the developer community by providing feedback to engineering and product teams, shaping the future of the MAX Platform.
- Represent Modular at conferences, summits, and industry events through presentations, panel discussions, and networking with industry professionals.
- Provide support and respond to questions from customers of Modular products, including some of the world's largest corporations.
- Experiment with and test early versions of our developer tools to ensure they meet user needs and expectations.
- Foster an inclusive and welcoming environment for ML engineers and practitioners interested in the MAX framework and Mojo programming language.
- Contribute to Modular’s broader developer relations, product, and marketing strategies.
What you bring to the table:
- 4+ years of experience in developer relations or as a software/AI developer.
- Strong programming skills, including experience with Python or C++.
- Experience with AI development platforms like PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- Experience with LLMs APIs such as Llama and Mistral, and serving frameworks like vLLM or SGLang.
- Proven ability to write high-quality code examples, product solutions, blog posts, and other content for a technical audience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex concepts.
- A passion for staying current with industry trends and developments.
- A growth and leadership mindset, with a collaborative attitude that seeks to learn more from our customers, team members, and the broader market.
- Experience in participating actively at conferences and events, including delivering talks, conducting workshops, and facilitating community development sessions is a plus.
Helpful, but not required:
- Experience programming GPUs using CUDA or ROCm.
- Familiarity with the Mojo 🔥 programming language.
- Experience producing high quality videos covering technical topics.

The estimated base salary range for this role to be performed in the US, regardless of the state, is $136,000.00 - $185,000.00 USD.
The estimated base salary range for this role to be performed in Canada, regardless of the province, is $130,500.00 - $177,500.00 CAD.
The salary for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of permissible, non-discriminatory job-related factors, which include but are not limited to education, training, work experience, business needs, or market demands. This range may be modified in the future. The total compensation for a candidate will also include annual target bonus, equity, and benefits, with equity making up a significant portion of your total compensation.
