ABOUT THE TEAM:

Join our dedicated Business Intelligence team consisting of data engineers, analysts and scientist focused on ensuring the integrity, efficiency, and strategic utilization of our data assets.

We specialize in:

  • Data Analytics and Reporting: Providing actionable insights through advanced data analytics and comprehensive reporting.
  • Database Optimization: Enhancing the performance and scalability of our database systems to support business growth and innovation.

YOUR MISSION:

As a Data and Analytics Intern, you will work on developing a comprehensive Data lineage and Reporting System. This system will ensure the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of our data across various databases and data sources. Your key tasks will include:

1. Enhance the Data Lineage Tree: Review and refine the existing data lineage tree to ensure it accurately represents the flow and transformation of data within our system. Verify data movement and dependencies to maintain a clear and precise data lineage.

2. Identify and Decommission Unused Datasets: Conduct a thorough analysis to identify datasets (tables, stored procedures, etc.) that are no longer in use. Develop and implement a plan to safely decommission these datasets, ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing operations. Leverage data science techniques to build a predictive model that flags "cold" datasets likely to remain unused, based on how frequently they’re queried, refreshed, or referenced downstream.

3. Database and Server Cleanup: Perform a comprehensive cleanup of the database and server. This includes removing unnecessary data, optimizing database structures, and ensuring the server is running efficiently. Your efforts will help streamline our operations and enhance overall system performance.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Current student pursuing a degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Statistics.
  • Proficiency in Python.
  • Basic experience with traditional ML models (e.g., regression, random forests) using scikit-learn.
  • Experience with Kubernetes.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and Database management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to learning and development.

REQUIREMENT:

Available to work full-time, on-site for a minimum of 12 consecutive weeks beginning November 2025.

WHAT TO EXPECT

We’re on a mission to unlock the potential of space to improve life on Earth, but that’s not an easy task. It takes hard work, determination, relentless innovation, teamwork, grit, and an unwavering commitment to achieving what others often deem impossible. Our people out-think, out-work and out-pace. We pride ourselves on having each other’s backs, checking our egos at the door, and rolling up our sleeves on all tasks big and small. We thrive under pressure, work to tight deadlines, and our focus is always on how we can deliver, rather than dwelling on the challenges that stand in the way.
