Position Description

 

Develops and implements data management and reporting services tools, platforms and enhancements. Participates in the designing and crafting a modern Data and Information Delivery and Analytics platform in the cloud to support the company’s products for the global markets. Creates, develops, and maintains various metrics, reports, dashboards, and BI solutions. Develops and maintains comprehensive reporting solutions to provide actionable insights and support data-driven decision-making for the team and stakeholders. Identifies opportunities for new development within a scalable public cloud environment. 

 

Primary Responsibilities: 

 

  • Collaborates and partners with product owners and development teams to translate business requirements into actionable tasks, ensuring cross-functional teams are informed throughout the project lifecycle. 

  • Works closely with business partners and other system partners to provide substantial techno-functional expertise and serves as a key developer for new tools and implementation projects.  

  • Analyzes and manipulates datasets aligned with business requirements to ensure data integrity, accessibility, and security throughout the entire data lifecycle. 

  • Applies data engineering, data warehousing and analytics technologies in the data application development, data integration, and data pipeline design patterns on a distributed platform. 

  • Builds scalable patterns for data consumption from cloud-based data lakes by leveraging Cloud technologies and DevOps concepts, including Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines

  • Collaborates with development teams to integrate automated testing into the sprint cycle and performs continuous testing and validation of new features and functionalities.  

  • Provides Subject Matter Expertise in Agile meetings, identifies and resolves impediments to keep the project on track. 

  • Analyzes complex requirements, collaborates with developers to design efficient solutions, and creates prototypes to validate proposed solutions and mitigate technical risks. 

 

 

Education and Experience

 

Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Data Engineer (or closely related occupation) building and supporting scalable data warehousing and reporting platforms in hybrid cloud environments. 

 

Or, alternatively, Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Data Engineer (or closely related occupation) building and supporting scalable data warehousing and reporting platforms in hybrid cloud environments. 

 

 

Skills and Knowledge

 

Candidate must also possess: 

 

  • Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) implementing cloud technologies using Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC); delivering real time reports with actionable insights to stakeholders using advanced BI tools – Oracle Analytics Server (OAS), Oracle Business Intelligence (OBIEE), and PowerBI; and using Hyperion Interactive Reporting to create dynamic, user-driven reports for multidimensional data analysis and online analytical processing (OLAP). 

  • DE building and maintaining ETL pipelines using Snowflake, Python, SnapLogic, Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) and Informatica; developing SQL scripts and stored procedures to process large datasets in relational environments; and using Informatica and PL/SQL to improve data workflows and data availability for business operations.  

  • DE optimizing BI analytical environments, including administering Oracle WebLogic Server, to ensure optimal performance and reliability of BI platforms; and implementing security measures (Single Sign-On (SSO) and fine-grained access control) to strengthen system security and protect sensitive data. 

  • DE applying DevOps principles throughout the software development life cycle (SDLC); building and promoting CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Jenkins Core, Stash, Bitbucket, and GitHub to automate deployments; and using cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, IBM uDeploy, and Ansible) to improve system reliability and support continuous delivery of data engineering solutions.
