Big Blue Swim School is one of the fastest-growing swim school franchises in the United States. Founded in 2009, the company offers year-round swim lessons for children aged 3 months to 12 years, using a proprietary curriculum and warm-water indoor pools designed for safety and comfort.
Since launching its franchising program in 2018, Big Blue has expanded rapidly, operating over 42 locations.
Big Blue’s operations are powered by LessonBuddy™, a cloud-based platform that supports scheduling, billing, and real-time progress tracking for both families and franchisees.
The platform is integrated with a mobile app and client portal, making it easy for parents to manage their experience.
About the Role
We are seeking a highly analytical and creative Business Intelligence Analyst to advance our analytics capabilities and support data-driven decision-making across our organization. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience developing dashboards in Sisense (or similar BI tools), strong data wrangling skills, and a passion for transforming complex data into clear, actionable insights. You will liaise between Big Blue’s software engineers, data engineering partner, and the business to develop new reports and dashboards for business performance monitoring and optimization.
This role must have strong communication skills for working between parties to scope and manage Big Blue’s data needs. We are looking for an intellectually curious data generalist with strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills who is looking to learn and grow their capabilities alongside Big Blue.
It is a full-time role for up to 4 months contract.
Working hours: It is essential to have at least 4 working hours of overlap with US Eastern time.
Responsibilities:
Develop a deep understanding of Big Blue’s data environment, architecture, and key business drivers
Lead the development, deployment, and optimization of dashboards and reports in Sisense,
ensuring performance, data integrity, and visual clarity
Translate business questions into scalable reporting solutions and data models that enable fast, reliable decision-making
Collaborate with stakeholders to define KPIs and success metrics, supporting both day-to-day operations and long-term strategic initiatives
Create clear and compelling data visualizations and interactive dashboards that drive action and uncover insights
Establish and evangelize best practices for dashboard development, report automation, and
data governance
Support training for business users in leveraging self-service BI tools, helping foster a culture of data-driven decision-making
Partner with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and deliver effective solutions
Essential knowledge, skills & experience:
4-6 years of experience in data analysis, reporting, and BI/dashboard development
Advanced experience with Sisense preferred; strong background with other similar BI platforms such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker also considered (a portfolio or demo of work is a plus)
Proficiency in SQL, with proven ability to query, manipulate, and join large datasets across
multiple sources , including writing queries from scratch
Strong understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and performance optimization principles, with the ability to build dashboards from scratch
Experience working in cloud-based data ecosystems Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or AWS
Experience with BigQuery
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, Economics,
Mathematics, or a related quantitative field
Nice-to-have
Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python or R for data exploration or automation
Soft Skills
Problem-solving mentality with strong attention to data integrity, scalability, and performance
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical insights into business value
Thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment; startup or multi-unit franchise experience is a
plus
Collaborative, curious, and eager to contribute to a growing team
