Join us! The GoFundMe team is searching for our next Staff Data Analyst. As a key member of the Data Insights team’s Business Intelligence initiative you will work to build scalable reporting and business decision-making tools to answer some of the company’s most important questions, optimize, develop and implement workflows, and ultimately effect change and improve efficiency throughout the company.

The Job

As a Staff Data Analyst, you will lead high-impact analytical initiatives that shape strategic decisions and improve performance across the business. You’ll design and deliver sophisticated dashboards, lead deep-dive analyses, and generate insights that influence key priorities. You’ll partner closely with senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to proactively identify opportunities where data can unlock value, guide decision-making, and drive measurable outcomes. Your work will help elevate the organization’s analytical maturity and ensure data is at the center of how decisions are made.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain advanced, scalable dashboards and reporting solutions using BI tools like Looker
  • Lead complex analyses that uncover trends, evaluate performance, and drive strategic recommendations
  • Collaborate with senior leaders to understand their business goals and deliver data-driven solutions aligned to their priorities
  • Translate open-ended business questions into structured analytical projects
  • Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences, including executives
  • Partner with teams across the organization—including Data Science, Product, Marketing, and Finance—to develop cross-functional insights
  • Identify high-leverage opportunities where analytics can drive business impact
  • Mentor analysts and help define team standards, best practices, and learning opportunities
  • Advocate for data literacy and enable adoption of BI tools across teams

You 

You’re a strategic thinker and expert analyst with strong technical skills and a deep understanding of business needs. You’re comfortable working independently, partnering directly with senior leadership, and leading through influence. You consistently deliver high-quality, actionable insights and are passionate about helping others use data to make better decisions.

What You Bring:

  • 6–8+ years of experience in business intelligence, analytics, or a related field
  • Advanced SQL skills and comfort working with large dataset
  • Expertise in business intelligence platforms, especially Looker (LookML a plus)
  • Proven ability to perform end-to-end analysis: from problem framing to delivering actionable recommendations
  • Strong business acumen and experience working closely with senior leadership
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills—you know how to bring data to life for any audience
  • A track record of collaborating with cross-functional teams to solve complex problems
  • Experience mentoring peers and elevating team capabilities through sharing best practices

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Operations Research or other related quantitative fields
  • Working knowledge of Python
  • Working knowledge of dbt and data modeling
  • Experience working in B2B SaaS companies

The total annual salary for this full-time position is $156,000 - $234,000 + equity + benefits.  This is a role in San Francisco, the salary range was determined by role, level, and possible location across the US. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
