BI Data Analyst Intern

Summary

MITER Brands is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic college student to join our Information Technology team as a BI Data Analyst Intern for the summer of 2025. This position will provide valuable firsthand experience in the field of Information Technology, offering exposure to innovative projects and real-world applications. As a member on our Business Intelligence Team, you will work alongside Data Engineers and BI Developers to assist in developing and implementing projects on a centralized analytics platform to support internal stakeholders and external stakeholders. This role is ideal for current college students studying Computer Science or Data Analytics.

Responsibilities

• Assist in scoping out data models and reports from various source data to help build a shared data model for centralized analytics and reporting.
• Develop an understanding of various stakeholders' analytics and reporting needs and scope out analytics solutions.
• Gather data from disparate systems and centralize it into an Azure data lake and ensure the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of the data.
• Perform data analysis using tools like Azure Synapse to identify trends and insights that can inform business decisions.
• Create and maintain reports and dashboards using tools like Power BI to visualize data and communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Collaborate closely with senior analysts and cross-functional teams to support data-driven projects and initiatives.
• Provide suggestions on how to enhance data integration and model accuracy and continuously develop skills in data analytics and visualization.
• Develop an awareness of evolving tech trends such as AI and explore their application to solve MITER Brands business opportunities.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree, Data Analytics, Information Technology, or Computer Science.
• Experience in SQL or Python preferred and Power BI, DAX, and Power Query(M) are a plus.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively convey complex data insights.
• Highly meticulous and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
• Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
