The Digital Senior Technical Consultant plays a key role in driving automation and digital transformation across Optus Wholesale by reviewing, designing, and implementing process improvements using strategic automation technologies. This includes gathering and documenting business requirements, designing and testing automation solutions in collaboration with subject matter experts, and deploying next-generation digital tools to support Optus’s “digital everywhere” vision.

In addition to technical implementation, the role involves providing thought leadership, mentoring the delivery team, and ensuring alignment with DevOps standards. The consultant works closely with business stakeholders to ensure automation solutions meet strategic goals, enhance operational efficiency, and deliver business value. As Optus Wholesale undergoes a digital transformation, this role is critical in ensuring platforms, projects, and maintenance activities are executed effectively and efficiently.

What you'll be doing:

• Collaborate with business teams to analyse current processes and design end-to-end automation solutions that improve efficiency and simplify operations.
• Lead technical teams, manage project objectives, timelines, and budgets, while ensuring alignment with software and industry best practices.
• Facilitate workshops, gather business requirements, assess automation feasibility, and act as a consultant to recommend and justify automation improvements.
• Develop, test, troubleshoot, and deploy automation tools, including training users and driving adoption across the business.
• Align automation initiatives with business and IT strategy, staying informed on emerging technologies (AI, ML, RPA) and telecom industry best practices.
• Promote business change, lead training initiatives, develop materials, and champion automation adoption to deliver measurable business benefits.

What makes you perfect for the role?

• Certified UiPath Advanced Developer and Solutions Architect with qualifications in IT&T Service Management, Business Administration, or Operations Research.
• Skilled in automation tools and languages including, UiPath BluePrism, Python, C#, Java, SQL, VB, Tableau, Business workflow automation tooling and more, with strong understanding of web systems, security, and BSS platforms like OLE, CPQ, and Salesforce.
• Experience with developing, integrating and testing API solutions into core applications via RPA technology (TMF + MEF standards a bonus)
• Strong grasp of end-to-end business processes (quote to cash), operational dependencies, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Experienced in agile project management and able to lead cross-functional teams to deliver automation and transformation initiatives.
• Excellent conceptual thinking, research, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and think on one’s feet.
• Strong communicator with influencing, negotiation, and adaptive leadership abilities, fostering collaboration and driving business-focused outcomes.
