Job Summary:

As an Analyst at Rakuten Rewards, you will be a key contributor in transforming data into actionable insights that drive business growth and enhance the customer experience. In this role, you will work with large and complex datasets to uncover trends, measure performance, and support data-driven decision-making across the organization. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams—including Product, Marketing, Engineering, Operations, and Partnerships to understand business challenges, define analytical approaches, and deliver impactful recommendations.

You will be responsible for building and maintaining dashboards, conducting deep-dive analyses, and supporting experimentation efforts such as A/B testing. Your work will help optimize user engagement, improve partner performance, and identify new opportunities for innovation. The ideal candidate is curious, detail-oriented, and passionate about leveraging data to solve real-world business problems in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Gather, clean, and analyze large datasets from multiple sources to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights related to user engagement, cashback activity, and partner performance
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to track KPIs and business metrics
  • Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of data by performing regular data validation, cleaning, and documentation
  • Support A/B testing and other experiments to optimize user experience
  • Identify opportunities to streamline analytics processes, automate repetitive tasks, and improve data workflows for greater efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in SQL and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker).
  • Experience with statistical analysis and/or A/B testing. Python or R is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex data concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Experience working with large datasets and cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery)
  • Familiarity with affiliate marketing, loyalty programs, or e-commerce analytics is a plus.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 2+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Product Analyst, or Analytics Engineer, preferably in retail or e-commerce.
  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.

Individual compensation will vary based on job-related factors, including the skills, qualifications, and experience of the successful candidate as well as business need and geographic location. The successful applicant for this role will be eligible for discretionary bonus, health, vision, dental insurance, 401k matching, PTO, Volunteer Time Off (VTO), and other employee benefits as the company implements.
