- The USMS, a component of the Department of Justice (DOJ), has approximately 6,500 employees and support contractors located in approximately 400 offices across the United States and its territories.
- The Prisoner Operations Division (POD) is one of twelve organizational divisions within the USMS with the mission to preserve the integrity of the federal judicial process by administering the federal detention management system and establishing national detention policy.
- POD establishes national strategies and programs providing for the housing, transportation, and care of federal prisoners.
- The BIC performs functions associated with Performance Management/Continuous Process Improvement (PM/CPI) and leverages key business functional areas to provide integration of strategic performance management across the division to optimize effectiveness.
- Principal functions of the BIC involve - Data Analytics, Business Engineering, and Policy Compliance and Reporting.
Responsibilities and Duties:
RPA Data Quality Specialist will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing Robotic Process Automation (RPA) solutions to automate manual data reconciliation processes. The primary objective is to enhance efficiency by automating the reconciliation of bills provided by USMS districts and other facilities, which are currently manually reviewed and reconciled monthly. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in RPA development, particularly with UIPath, and will contribute to streamlining operations.
The individual performing in this position must be able to take direction well and work independently. Depending upon the work performed, this position may be moderate to top secret security risk. The RPA Data Quality Specialist will assist the USMS HQ Divisions in satisfying the overall operational objectives of the United States Marshals Service.
As an RPA Data Quality Specialist, some of your typical work assignments may include, but not limited to:
- Design, develop, and implement RPA solutions to automate manual processes, specifically the reconciliation of bills from USMS districts and detention facilities.
- Utilize UIPath or similar RPA software to develop automated workflows that integrate with existing systems and streamline the reconciliation process.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements, analyze existing workflows, and identify opportunities for automation.
- Develop, test, and deploy RPA solutions that improve the accuracy and speed of data reconciliation.
- Maintain and support existing RPA solutions, ensuring ongoing efficiency and reliability.
- Work closely with the stakeholders to ensure the seamless integration of automation solutions with business operations.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance on RPA best practices and methodologies.
- Document processes, designs, and RPA workflows for future reference and training purposes.
- Continuously monitor and assess RPA performance, suggesting improvements and optimizations as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline from an accredited institution of higher learning.
- 4+ years of consulting and/or directly relevant industry experience and/or educational training in related fields, such as support program management and familiarity with issues, assistance with design issues, leading teams, analysis of project data, development of appropriate deliverables, and exposure to issues involving information technology and information technology in a law enforcement environment.
- Expert knowledge and use of the MS Office suite (Word, SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio) to prepare documents and deliver presentations.
- Proven experience in designing and developing RPA solutions, specifically using UIPath.
- Experience with data reconciliation, data management, and process automation.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to RPA.
- Familiarity with USMS systems and data, particularly the reconciliation of bills and reports from provided by different agencies in different formats.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
- Experience in data quality management is a plus.
- Must be flexible and able to thrive in a time-sensitive environment to meet strict deadlines with sudden and unpredictable needs with a high tolerance for ambiguity.
- A self-starter with a strong work ethic who sets high standards for self and others and demonstrates enthusiasm for the mission of the team.
- Please note that pursuant to a government contract, this specific position requires U.S. Citizenship.
- Must have an active Moderate Risk Background Investigation (MBI) Public Trust T3 case type or higher (Secret, TS, etc.). Investigation closure date MUST be less than five years old.
Preferred Skills:
- Background in data analysis or data quality management.
- Knowledge of the USMS or similar federal operations.
