The repositories of data for Battery are not all complete nor connected so the Data Scientist will need to have persistence, perseverance, and excellent organization skills to reach a state where there is a continuous flow of valid data. Reaching this end goal will be extensive work partnering with teams in Supply Chain Engineering, Reliability, and Data Science.

Responsibilities
- Calling attention to and understanding trends in field data that need to be addressed.
- Working with extended battery development team to ensure that dev device data is accurate and that devices are performing as expected.
- Creating dashboards to make battery team data analysis more efficient.
Analyzing key groups of devices to understand how they are different from the larger population and mining data for specific devices. - Maintaining battery data fidelity across generations of device and telemetry software.
- Defining and guiding next generation battery data analytics.
- Combining manufacturing and repair datasets with field data as required.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Doctorate in Chemistry (Electrical), Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Chemical Engineering AND 1+ year(s) experience working with batteries manufactured overseas, testing characterization screenings, lithium-ion battery component development or implementation, running battery tests, and product design (e.g., consumer electronics)
- OR Master's Degree in Chemistry (Electrical), Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Chemical Engineering AND 5+ years experience working with batteries manufactured overseas, testing characterization screenings, lithium-ion battery component development or implementation, running battery tests, and product design (e.g., consumer electronics)
- OR Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry (Electrical), Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Chemical Engineering AND 7+ years experience working with batteries manufactured overseas, testing characterization screenings, lithium-ion battery component development or implementation, running battery tests, and product design (e.g., consumer electronics)
- OR equivalent experience
- Ability to combine large and complex data sets, to scrub the data, and to make actionable conclusions using a variety of tools including AI and machine learning.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Doctorate in Chemistry (Electrical), Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Chemical Engineering AND 3+ years experience working with batteries manufactured overseas, testing characterization screenings, lithium-ion battery component development or implementation, running battery tests, and product design (e.g., consumer electronics)
- OR Master's Degree in Chemistry (Electrical), Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Chemical Engineering AND 7+ years experience working with batteries manufactured overseas, testing characterization screenings, lithium-ion battery component development or implementation, running battery tests, and product design (e.g., consumer electronics)
- OR Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry (Electrical), Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Chemical Engineering AND 9+ years experience working with batteries manufactured overseas, testing characterization screenings, lithium-ion battery component development or implementation, running battery tests, and product design (e.g., consumer electronics)
- OR equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated understanding of statistics as it relates to data analysis.
- Demonstrated competence with dashboard tools such as PowerBI.
- Ability to use machine learning and other techniques to gain insights from data.
Battery Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.
