Research Engineer - FAIR Embodiment and Action Pillar

Meta is seeking a Research Engineer to join our Multimodal Reasoning and Embodied Agents Research team. We conduct focused research and engineering to build state-of-the-art multimodal world models and embodied agents. We are looking for experienced engineers who have a background in AI systems, with experience in areas like model evaluation; data processing for pre-training and fine-tuning. Experience in building agentic systems is a plus.Research Engineer - FAIR Embodiment and Action Pillar Responsibilities

• Contribute to experiments, including designing experimental details, authoring reusable code, running evaluations, and organizing results
• Contribute to publications and open-sourcing efforts
• Responsible for building the software platform for embodied AI agents using the models we develop
• Responsible for software engineering in the team

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience
• Research or development experience in machine learning, deep learning, and/or natural language processing and/or multimodal modeling
• Programming experience in Python and hands-on experience with frameworks such as PyTorch
• Experience in architectural patterns of large scale software applications

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience
• A PhD in AI, computer science, data science, or related technical fields
• Direct experience in building AI agentic systems
