The QA Engineer aids in creating and maintaining testing automation stack for the web application used by internal and external clients. This includes supporting and developing the existing test suite and participating in product development discussions. This role helps to facilitate high-quality feedback to the development team using a combination of automated and manual testing, if necessary. 

The successful candidate will be a junior engineer who can learn and develop UI test automation, be a team player, and work with dynamic and highly productive teams

Responsibilities 

  • Participate in product development by manually testing applications, providing feedback to the developer, or automating the test cases. 

  • Responsible for keeping all automated tests valid, effective, and stable 

  • Keeps automation coverage high and takes an automation-first approach 

  • Collaborate with the development team, providing current status QA planning, test design, implementation, and execution that supports the team’s portfolio of applications across HedgeServ business solutions 

  • Participate in daily sprint meetings with dev, retrospectives and continuous improvement efforts with the team 

Requirements: 

  • Software Quality Assurance & Front-End Testing: Proficiency in SQA principles and automated testing for front-end interfaces (web/mobile) to ensure functionality, performance, and usability. 

  • Web Application Testing & Automation Tools: Experience with web app testing (cross-browser, responsiveness) using tools like Selenium and Playwright. 

  • AWS Exposure (Preferred): Familiarity with Amazon Web Services for hosting, testing environments, or CI/CD pipelines

  • AWS CodeBuild Experience (Preferred): Knowledge of AWS CodeBuild for building and testing in CI/CD workflows. 

  • Python Coding Skills (Preferred): Ability to write Python scripts for automation or testing. 

  • Agile & Release Management: Understanding of Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban), release cycles, and change management practices. 

  • Continuous Learning: Commitment to staying current with industry trends and technologies through ongoing self-improvement. 

  • Testing Frameworks (Preferred): Experience with frameworks like pyUnit, pyTest (Python), MSTest, nUnit (.NET), TestNG, or jUnit (Java). 

  • Financial Services Experience (Preferred): Background in financial services (e.g., banking, fintech) with knowledge of Trading Systems
