What is Expert People Analytics (Data Scientist)?

The role is a specialized role within HR, focused on using advanced data science techniques to solve complex workforce-related problems. Unlike general HR analysts, this role brings deep expertise in statistics, machine learning, and data modeling to unlock predictive, prescriptive, and diagnostic insights from people data.

The role reports directly to the Stream Head People Analytics within a team of total 3 members.

What does Expert People Analytics (Data Scientist) do?

• Use statistical models and machine learning to solve complex people-related problems—like predicting employee attrition, improving hiring quality, or forecasting future skill needs.
• Go beyond traditional HR analytics to develop predictive and prescriptive models for strategic decision-making.
• Design algorithms that predict outcomes like:
• Which employees are at risk of leaving
• What hiring sources yield the best long-term performers
• Which skills the workforce will need in the future
• Personalized career growth recommendations
• Use Python, R, SQL, or cloud-based ML tools to build and deploy models.
• Perform advanced statistical tests (e.g., regression analysis, clustering, decision trees) on employee data to uncover hidden insights.
• Quantify the impact of HR policies and programs with evidence-based approaches.
• Design A/B tests or controlled experiments to test the effectiveness of HR interventions (e.g., engagement programs, training initiatives).
• Help leaders measure ROI on people investments.
• Simplify complex analytical findings into business language that HR and executives can act upon.
• Create impactful data visualizations and dashboards to communicate insights clearly.
• Lead the development of AI-powered tools for HR, such as:
  1. Resume screening automation
  2. Chatbots for employee queries
  3. AI-driven learning path recommendations

• Partner with AI/tech teams to ensure responsible, ethical use of AI in HR.
• Work alongside data engineers, HRIS teams, and legal teams to ensure data accuracy, privacy, and ethical usage.
• Build trusted datasets for reliable analytics and model building.

Requirements

What are we looking for and what does it require to be an Expert People Analytics (Data Scientist)?

• Programming: Python, R, SQL
• ML Tools: scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch (optional but valuable)
• Visualization: Power BI, Tableau, or custom dashboards
• Statistics: Predictive modeling, hypothesis testing, clustering, classification
• Business Translation: Ability to turn analytics into clear, actionable recommendations for HR and business leaders
