Job Summary: 

Techstra is seeking a detail-oriented Metadata Analyst to support the organization’s front-end customer BI/reporting strategy by ensuring the effective definition, organization, and stewardship of metadata. This role is critical to improving data discoverability, lineage, and quality across systems and teams. 

The ideal candidate will have experience working with metadata repositories, data catalogs, semantic layers, and BI/reporting in a healthcare environment and will be comfortable collaborating with both business and technical stakeholders across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Define, document, and maintain metadata for client-facing BI/reporting assets. 

  • Implement and manage metadata standards, naming conventions, and business definitions in alignment with governance policies. 

  • Collaborate with data stewards, data architects, and business units to capture and curate business and technical metadata. 

  • Populate and maintain enterprise data catalogs and metadata management tools. 

  • Ensure consistent metadata tagging to support data discovery, classification, lineage, and impact analysis. 

  • Assist in developing data lineage documentation and relationships between data elements across systems. 

  • Support data governance efforts by helping enforce data policies, data stewardship processes, and compliance requirements at the BI/reporting layer. 

  • Participate in data quality initiatives by identifying metadata inconsistencies or gaps. 

  • Provide training and support to teams using metadata tools and standards. 

Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Library Science, Data Management, Computer Science, or a related field. 

  • 2–5 years of experience working in data management, metadata, or a related field. 

  • Experience working with metadata management and data catalog tools (e.g., Collibra, Alation, Informatica, Dataedo). 

  • 7 years of experience in data governance, data lineage, and data classification concepts. 

  • Knowledge of relational databases and data warehousing principles. 

  • Proficiency in SQL and experience working with structured and unstructured data. 

  • Excellent analytical, communication, and documentation skills. 

  • Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem-solving. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience in PBM / pharmacy environments 

  • Experience with MicroStrategy or a comparable BI/reporting platform 

  • Experience with regulatory data compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, CCPA). 

  • Understanding of data architecture and enterprise information management. 

  • Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., GCP, AWS, Azure). 

  • Experience working in Agile environments.
