Data Architect (Snowflake & Matillion)

We are looking for an experienced Data Architect to lead data architecture and modeling initiatives, with a strong focus on Snowflake and Matillion. The ideal candidate is a self-driven professional with a hands-on mindset, capable of designing scalable data pipelines and ensuring compliance with governance and performance best practices. You will play a key role in modernizing the data stack, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring robust data delivery aligned with business goals.

Key Responsibilities:
• Design and implement end-to-end data architecture using Snowflake and Matillion for ingestion, transformation, and storage
• Define and maintain data modeling standards, including dimensional, normalized, star/snowflake schemas
• Evaluate and adopt tools across the modern data stack, with scalability in mind
• Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and stakeholders to define data requirements and build robust data pipelines
• Ensure compliance with data security, access control, and governance frameworks (GDPR, HIPAA, SOC 2)
• Optimize performance in Snowflake through clustering, caching, query tuning, and cost control
• Oversee integration from multiple data sources (APIs, databases, files, 3rd-party platforms)
• Establish practices for data quality, metadata management, and job orchestration using Matillion
• Act as a subject matter expert for data architecture topics, providing mentoring and guidance to the team

Must-Have Requirements:
• 5+ years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, or similar roles
• Strong expertise in Snowflake (multi-cluster design, role-based access, data sharing, etc.)
• Proven experience with Matillion ETL and building scalable ELT/ETL pipelines
• Advanced knowledge of data modeling and cloud data platform design
• Proficient in SQL and scripting languages (Python or Bash)
• Hands-on experience with AWS or Azure cloud environments
• Familiarity with CI/CD, Git, and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation)

Nice to Have:
• Experience with dbt, Airflow, or similar orchestration tools
• Knowledge of BI/reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker
• Familiarity with data governance and data catalog tools (e.g., Alation, Collibra, Atlan)
• Exposure to machine learning platforms or real-time data processing
• Industry knowledge in finance, healthcare, or retail is a plus
