Senior Analyst - Rate Engineering Load Research

Providing electric, gas, and steam to NYC and Westchester. Pay your bill, manage your account, report an outage, and learn how to save energy.- Collect and process electric, gas, and steam customer data for their respective class demand analyses.
- Learn and independently run the all modules of the load research software (KEMA-LRS) used in the development of companies demand analyses. (e.g., be able to run certain modules as necessary with knowledge of the required inputs).
- Conduct detailed review and interpretation of demand analysis results (for all companies electric, gas, or steam) and present results to stakeholders.
- Independently plan out and write logic for programs with minimal oversight and in accordance with business users needs.
- Prepare deliverables of customer usage analyses to internal and external parties. Assist in preparing testimony, exhibits and workpapers for use in regulatory proceedings.
- When applicable, train subsection personnel to develop the skills required in the preparation and completion of demand analyses or other deliverables.
- Assist in answering inquiries, both internal and external, concerning the companies electric, gas and steam load research practices and demand analyses.
- Interact, communicate and exchange information with personnel from the companies other departments and other utilities in the conduct of job responsibilities.
- Design, modify and use computer systems, (e.g. personal computer applications and mainframe systems) that provide data analyses which support the computation of the companies various demand analyses and all other responsibilities of this position; Create and maintain well organized documentation, files, and accurate records-- including maintaining back-up for computer files and safeguarding computer facilities, reports, and workpapers.
- Research other utilities load research practices and related demand analysis methodologies.
- Perform other related tasks and assignments as required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science or related field and 4 years related work experience including experience performing analysis or
- Master's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science or related field and 2-3 years related work experience
- Master's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science or related field and 2-3 years related work experience including experience performing analysis with use of programming languages to perform analysis
- Intermediate to Highly proficient in a programming language (SAS, SQL, Python) and procedures and Microsoft Office suite (i.e. Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint), required.
- Possess a strong attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines on deliverables requiring a high degree of accuracy while handling multiple assignments, required.
- Demonstrate problem solving skills with the ability to identify, analyze and communicate to manager issues that arise during Analyses, required.
- Must have excellent oral, written, and interpersonal, communication and skills, required.
- Must have the ability to effectively interact with customers, 3rd party vendors, and all levels of management, required.
- Must have the ability to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders, and work within cross functional teams, required.
- Use of Company C&B system and use of SAS programming languages, preferred.
- Driver's License Required
- The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be able and willing to travel within Company service territory, as needed.
