ECS is seeking a Data Engineer to work in our Lackland, TX office. (Situational Telework)  Please Note: This position is contingent upon additional funding.

 

The successful candidate is expected to accomplish the following outcomes during the first year in the position:

  • Formally track all tasks, to include: assigned by, suspense, status, and comments on all assigned tasks through completion and be prepared to brief upon request.
  • Develop digital continuity folders and files that include standard operating procedures, workflows and POC lists to accomplish all tasks.
  • Create 2-3 products beyond the client’s requirements that positively impact the client to either increase efficiency, effectiveness, or innovation.
  • Master position tasks within 60 days and exceed requirements within 90 days.

Enterprise Engineering Support, specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Design, develop and maintain data processing systems, ensuring data security, and creating data visualization tools.
  • Develop extract, transform, load (ETL) processes to ingest and process large volumes of data.
  • Implement data quality checks and validate processes to ensure accuracy and integrity of data.
  • Design and implement data storage solutions.
  • Create data APIs and web services for data access and integration.
  • Build real-time data processing systems for streaming data sources.
  • Develop data security protocols and access controls to protect sensitive information.
  • Design and implement data visualization tools and dashboards for data analysis and reporting.
  • Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to understand analytic requirements and create data solutions to meet those needs.
  • Ensure compliance with data governance and privacy regulations.
  • Provide technical documentation and training to users on data engineering best practices and tools.
  • Interface with the Non-classified Internet Protocol (IP) Router Network (NIPRNET), Secret Internet Protocol Router Network (SIPRNET), Joint Worldwide Intelligence Communications System (JWICS), Common Operating Environment (COE), Defense Messaging System, and other networks, as required.
  • Provide data engineering support to the Information System Owner (ISO), the Senior Information System Security Officer (ISSO) performing the ISSM and the ISSE role, for classified, unclassified, and cloud-based networks and related systems, workstations, and associated software applications.

Travel: Some travel may be involved, > 10%.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of related work experience.
  • Of those 10 years, a minimum of six (6) years of related work experience supporting a DoD component.
  • Experience in designing, developing, and maintaining data processing systems, ensuring data security, and creating data visualization tools.
  • Experience in developing (Extract, Transform, Load) (ETL) processes to ingest and process large volumes of data.
  • Experience implementing data quality check and validation processes.
  • Experience implementing data visualization tools and dashboards for data analysis.
  • Experience in consulting, briefing, and documenting results.
  • Knowledgeable and experienced in compliance and data governance.
  • Certification: Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II Certification in accordance with DoD 8570-M/
  • Clearance: TS/SCI

     

  • Education: MA/MS in a work-related field (or a BA/BS plus an additional 8 Years of work experience, 4 of which must be work-related)
