The Company

PayPal has been revolutionizing commerce globally for more than 25 years. Creating innovative experiences that make moving money, selling, and shopping simple, personalized, and secure, PayPal empowers consumers and businesses in approximately 200 markets to join and thrive in the global economy.

We operate a global, two-sided network at scale that connects hundreds of millions of merchants and consumers. We help merchants and consumers connect, transact, and complete payments, whether they are online or in person. PayPal is more than a connection to third-party payment networks. We provide proprietary payment solutions accepted by merchants that enable the completion of payments on our platform on behalf of our customers.

We offer our customers the flexibility to use their accounts to purchase and receive payments for goods and services, as well as the ability to transfer and withdraw funds. We enable consumers to exchange funds more safely with merchants using a variety of funding sources, which may include a bank account, a PayPal or Venmo account balance, PayPal and Venmo branded credit products, a credit card, a debit card, certain cryptocurrencies, or other stored value products such as gift cards, and eligible credit card rewards.  Our PayPal, Venmo, and Xoom products also make it safer and simpler for friends and family to transfer funds to each other. We offer merchants an end-to-end payments solution that provides authorization and settlement capabilities, as well as instant access to funds and payouts. We also help merchants connect with their customers, process exchanges and returns, and manage risk. We enable consumers to engage in cross-border shopping and merchants to extend their global reach while reducing the complexity and friction involved in enabling cross-border trade.

Our beliefs are the foundation for how we conduct business every day.  We live each day guided by our core values of Inclusion, Innovation, Collaboration, and Wellness. Together, our values ensure that we work together as one global team with our customers at the center of everything we do – and they push us to ensure we take care of ourselves, each other, and our communities.

Job Summary:

This job will lead teams of data analysts, overseeing the execution of data analytics projects. You will work with stakeholders to identify analytics needs and provide insights to support decision-making. Your role involves managing data processes, ensuring data quality, and fostering a collaborative team environment with business unit stakeholder groups.

Job Description:

At PayPal, we are building a world-class analytics organization to power the next generation of decision-making for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs). We are seeking a Manager of Data Analytics to lead a high-performing team of analysts focused on delivering insights that directly influence product strategy, commercial performance, and strategic OKR execution.

This is a critical role within the SMB Analytics & Reporting function. You will be responsible for managing analytics workflows from intake to delivery, and aligning closely with cross-functional stakeholders in Product and Commercial teams. As PayPal transitions to a more automated, AI-native reporting environment, this leader will help bridge foundational execution with the organization's future vision—driving clarity, scale, and actionability across all analytics deliverables

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a pod of data analysts in executing analytics projects that deliver actionable, high-quality insights aligned with business priorities.
  • Partner closely with business stakeholders to understand key initiatives, roadmaps, and OKRs—and translate those into prioritized analytics work streams.
  • Manage the analytics intake and prioritization process to ensure resources are focused on the highest-impact business needs.
  • Ensure rigor and consistency across analytics outputs, maintaining high standards for data quality, business context, and reproducibility.
  • Support strategic planning and operational performance reviews with robust insight packages, ranging from funnel diagnostics to commercial segmentation to white space analysis.
  • Foster a collaborative, transparent team culture that encourages proactive problem-solving and clear communication with partner teams.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in analytics tooling, process automation, and self-service data access.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience in business analytics, product analytics, or strategy roles; prior experience managing analysts required.
  • Strong command of SQL and experience working in a modern BI and data environment (e.g., Looker, Tableau, dbt, Snowflake).
  • Proven track record of partnering with cross-functional teams to translate business questions into high-quality insights.
  • Experience managing analytics backlog, project scoping, stakeholder intake, and delivery processes.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills—you can simplify complexity and deliver clear, actionable narratives.
  • Comfortable working in an environment undergoing transformation toward automated and AI-augmented analytics.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a quantitative or business field; advanced degree a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with SMB or B2B product environments.
  • Exposure to OKR-based performance management or executive reporting cycles.
  • Experience contributing to or leading BI automation and insight delivery modernization efforts (e.g., Slack-native alerts, AI-powered narrative tools).
