We're looking for a Generative AI Specialist to join our growing team. The ideal candidate knows the ins and outs of all leading models and tools, actively follows the latest trends and has experience putting them to good use within his or her current organization to increase efficiency and impact of products, processes and services. This person is someone that uses Generative AI every day for a multitude of tasks and shares our passion for integrating AI everywhere.
This is a full-time contract position. You will be expected to work during Study.com's Pacific Time business hours Monday through Friday. Additionally, you will use your own computer and have reliable access to high-speed internet.
What You’ll Do:
- Work with our internal agent infrastructure to build tools of varying complexity to support all teams within the organization
- Explore and experiment with integrating 3rd party AI solutions into our workflows
- Utilize generative AI models both behind APIs and running on our own hardware (e.g. if we wanted to fine tune or to optimize for latency and spend)
- Provision and configure hardware and install software in support of AI tools as needed
- Troubleshoot existing prompts in our public facing products and internal tools and come up with optimal new prompts, choose the best models for each task, and constantly evaluate and iterate
- Support others in their journey to squeeze maximal gains from Generative AI--mentor, answer questions, provide feedback and advice and help us to fully become an AI first organization.
- Proactively teach people by organizing and leading training sessions, reaching out and pairing up across many different teams.
- Be the go-to person for industry developments and trends within our organization—maintain best practices and understanding the current state of models, etc.
- Create rapid prototypes for others to use as examples to jump start their projects
- Stay on top of how our LLMs/agents/tools are doing in the wild, watching timing metrics, flagged conversations and overall quality.
- Create rubrics for grading agent performance and provide performance reporting to key stakeholders
What You’ll Bring To The Role:
- 3-5 years of experience in Applied Engineering
- BS in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering or related field (master’s degree or PhD a plus)
- Strong technical background. With the help of AI, you should be able to code anything.
- Comfortable with DevOps type tasks (installing software, provisioning cloud machines, bash)
- Extensive experience utilizing LLMs for a variety of business use cases
- Expertise on the latest models, tools and marketplace trends
- Strong proficiency in coding, preferably Python and/or Java
- Excellent proficiency in SQL, preferably MySQL and/or Google BigQuery
- Experience building data pipelines and familiarity with associated technologies (Airflow, Prefect, Beam)
- A willingness to work in a face-paced, dynamic environment while juggling multiple projects
- Excellent communication skills and a passion for innovation
- Familiarity with leading LLMs, e.g. Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Mistral, Llama, etc.
Nice To Have:
- Experience with vector databases (e.g. Pinecone, Milvus, Weaviate) and embeddings
- Experience with RAG, including building pipelines to keep the vector database up to date.
- Experience maintaining up to date production machine learning models, handling regular training and updates with zero downtime.
- Experience with automation tools such as n8n or zapier
- Experience with Cursor, Windsurf, Github Copilot, etc.
