Responsibilities

  • Create customer and business impact by identifying and leading high-leverage data science and analytics opportunities across product areas 
  • Shape organizational strategy, technical direction, and multi-million dollar investments through end-to-end project leadership, blending strategic influence with deep technical execution 
  • Drive alignment across executives and diverse stakeholders through trusted partnerships and compelling communication 
  • Establish and operationalize metrics, experimentation frameworks, and causal inference approaches tailored to dynamic AI systems and enterprise contexts 
  • Advance and scale data, analytics, experimentation, and machine learning infrastructure and self-serve tools to empower thousands of colleagues to make smarter, faster decisions 
  • Mentor other data scientists and champion best practices to uplift our craft and collaborative culture 
  • Leverage AI to accelerate workflows and amplify team productivity 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Doctorate in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND 5+ years data-science experience (e.g., managing structured and unstructured data, applying statistical techniques and reporting results)  
    • OR Master's Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND 7+ years data-science experience 
    • OR Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND 10+ years data science experience  
    • OR equivalent experience.  
  • 5+ years of experience leading data science and analytics projects that delivered measurable product and growth wins, including deploying Machine Learning (ML) models to production 
  • 5+ years of experience analyzing, visualizing, and modeling large-scale data using SQL, Python, or R  
  • 5+ years of experience designing and analyzing experiments and causal inference studies 
  • Experience using AI tools in data science and analytics workflows 

 

 

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

 

 

Preferred/Additional Qualifications: 

  • Experience working on AI/ML-powered products, recommendation systems, developer tools, and/or cloud services 
  • Experience implementing and scaling MLOps practices in production 
  • Experience prototyping and deploying data products 

 

 

Data Science IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $139,900 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.
