Position Summary

The Director of Analytics and Data Integrity will implement and manage operations related to data engineering and visualization to inform decision-makers of student success, institutional operations, goals, and outcomes. Chairing the Data Integrity Group (DIG) and Instructional Coordinator (IC) Data Group, the Director works with stakeholders to create and maintain operational definitions and guidelines for institutional data use across the College to ensure data integrity and improve data quality and stewardship.

Under the general direction of the Associate Vice President for Continuous Improvement and Innovation Analytics (AVP), the Director is primarily responsible for leading Tableau dashboard production and data management functions of the PRIA Office.

Pay dates occur on the 7th and 22nd of each month. If those dates fall on a weekend, the pay date occurs on the Friday prior to the 7th and 22nd. As an employee of the college, you are eligible for a comprehensive benefits package.

In the best interest of the College, only individuals who are residents of Maryland or one of the following states will be eligible for employment at the college: Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia or the District of Columbia. The college will annually review this restriction and, if appropriate, expand the list of states of employment eligibility.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Ensure Tableau dashboards are maintained and regularly updated. Lead the analytics team and collaborate with the Applications Team within the division of Information and Instructional Technology (IIT) to optimize data analytics procedures. Formulate visualizations, optimize data engines behind the visualizations, and improve analytics techniques

Conceptualize and carry out the AVP’s vision for strategic priorities for business intelligence solutions (such as leveraging Canvas datalake) and translate data into meaningful information and analytics insights. Execute the AVP's vision for leveraging AI in analytics, which will improve efficiency and data accuracy for dashboard production.


Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure adherence to industry standards, develop and implement data management procedures, and promote a better understanding and appreciation of data definitions, accessibility, and proper usage.


Work closely with ICs updating data manuals or dictionaries such as Instructional Activity Loading Manual, Instructional Methods Dictionary, etc.


Develop and facilitate analytics and data management related training at the College.

Lend a hand to the AVP on best practices on data governance and data analytics solutions; serve on the Data Governance Council.

Other tasks may be assigned by AVP.

Required Qualifications:

Master’s in Computer Science/Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.

Minimum of five (5) years of experience in institutional research

Advanced experience with Tableau/Power BI, relational databases, database design, and data structures.

Knowledge of advanced statistical analysis (e.g., regression, predictive modeling), machine learning techniques (e.g., clustering, random forests, etc.), and/or data mining.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in a community college setting

10+ years experience in institutional research

Familiarity with integrated data systems, data privacy regulations, and governance frameworks.

Strong project management skills with the ability to lead data analytics projects, compiling data dictionaries, etc.

Computer programming and software: Python, SQL, SPSS, etc.
