ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Lead Data Engineer to join our team in Stafford, VA.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • The Senior Data Engineer  provides expertise in data architecture, data engineering, and data management to support the organization’s strategic goals and initiatives

  • Focuses on designing, building, and maintaining comprehensive and scalable data solutions that align with the overall enterprise architecture framework

  • Collaborate closely with Architects, Engineers, and business stakeholders to ensure data integrity, availability, and security across the organization

  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of the enterprise data architecture, including data models, data flow diagrams, and data dictionaries

  • Evaluate and recommend new data technologies and tools to support evolving business needs and provide technical guidance on data integration, data warehousing, and Data Lake implementations

  • Design, develop, and implement data pipelines and ETL processes to ingest, transform, and load data from various sources

  • Build and maintain scalable data platforms and infrastructure, including on-premises and cloud-based solutions

  • Optimize data processing performance and ensure data quality and consistency

  • Implement data governance and security measures to protect sensitive information

  • Collaborate with Architects, Engineers, and Business Analysts to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions

  • Provide technical support and guidance to Development Teams on data-related issues

  • Participate in the evaluation and selection of data-related tools and technologies

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in field necessary to assume Senior Data Engineer duties of 4 years of additional experience in lieu of a degree.

  • 12+ years of experience with 9+ years of position-specific relevant Data Engineer experience.

  • Experience with data modeling tools and techniques. Proficiency in SQL and other data manipulation languages.

  • Experience with data integration and ETL tools (e.g., Informatica, Talend).

  • Experience with data warehousing and Data Lake technologies (e.g., Snowflake, AWS Redshift, Azure Data Lake). Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and their data services.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field.

  • Experience with Big Data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark). 

  • Experience with data governance and data quality tools, and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI). Knowledge of data security and privacy regulations. Experience working in an agile-informed development environment. AWS Certified Data Analytics–Specialty, Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer, Azure Data Engineer Associate and Big Data certifications (e.g., Cloudera Certified Professional (CCP) Data Engineer).

  • Experience at a DoD Combatant Command (e.g., SOUTHCOM, NORTHCOM, CENTCOM, CYBERCOM, INDOPACOM, EUCOM, AFRICOM, STRATCOM, TRANSCOM, SOCOM, SPACECOM) or a component is desired.

Clearance Requirements:

  • Must have an active TS with SCI eligibility.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%

  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer

  • The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
