As a Data Engineer at fundcraft, you’ll help shape the foundation of our data systems by building and maintaining the infrastructure that supports our data-driven culture. You will work closely with a team of experienced engineers, analysts, and data scientists to ensure that data flows efficiently and reliably across the organisation.
Your work will focus on implementing scalable data pipelines, improving existing workflows, and supporting analytics through well-structured and accessible data models. Operating within our agile development process—with two-week sprints and continuous delivery—you’ll actively contribute to our product roadmap and collaborate across teams to turn data into actionable insights.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain robust and scalable data pipelines for extracting, transforming, and loading (ETL/ELT) data from various sources into our data warehouse.
- Support the design and implementation of data models that facilitate analytics, reporting and operational consumption.
- Improve and optimize existing data workflows to enhance performance, scalability, and data quality across our data ecosystem.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams to understand data requirements and translate them into robust technical solutions.
- Help uphold and implement data governance, quality, and security practices in line with company standards.
- Participate rigorously in team code reviews, contribute to comprehensive documentation efforts, and engage in collaborative planning sessions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues efficiently, ensuring high data availability and reliability for all stakeholders.
Skills & Behaviours:
- Proficient in SQL with experience in advanced querying and performance optimization, and python for data manipulation and scripting.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP) and their relevant data services.
- Familiarity with data orchestration tools for scheduling and managing data workflows.
- Solid understanding of data modeling principles.
- Problem-solving mindset with a keen eye for detail and a strong commitment to data accuracy and integrity.
- Effective communicator, capable of working across disciplines and explaining technical topics to non-technical stakeholders.
- A collaborative mindset with a willingness to learn from and support team members.
- Comfortable managing multiple tasks and adapting to changing priorities in a dynamic environment.
