About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and maintaining our continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, primarily leveraging Azure DevOps. You will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of our AI/ML-based model inference APIs and web applications, with a strong focus on cloud-native deployments and cost optimization.

Responsibilities:

CI/CD Pipeline Management: 

• Design, develop, and maintain robust Azure DevOps pipelines for Python-based AI/ML model inference APIs, ensuring automated build, test, and deployment processes.
• Create and manage Azure DevOps pipelines for Node.js-based web applications, optimizing for efficient and secure deployments.

Cloud Infrastructure & Deployment:

• Implement and manage deployments using Azure Container Apps, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), and Azure Virtual Machines (VMs). 
• Configure and maintain Azure Service Bus Queues for asynchronous communication.
• Integrate Azure Entra (formerly Azure AD) and OAuth for secure authentication and authorization.
• Manage and secure sensitive information using Azure Key Vault.

Deploy and maintain MongoDB databases.

• Infrastructure as a Code (IaaC): 
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as a Code (IaaC) scripts (e.g., Azure Resource Manager templates, Bicep, or Terraform) to automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration.

Monitoring & Optimization:

• Regularly monitor Azure cloud costs, identifying and implementing cost optimization strategies. 
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to APIs (including AI/ML inference endpoints), web applications, and underlying infrastructure. 

Machine Learning Operations (MLOps):

• Manage and support the Azure Machine Learning (ML) Workspace for AI/ML engineers, facilitating model deployment, experimentation tracking, and lifecycle management. 

Security & Compliance:

• Adhere to and promote secure deployment best practices.
• Regularly upgrade and rotate keys, certificates, and other security credentials to maintain system availability and security.
• Implement and manage feature flags using Azure Application Configuration Manager. 

Collaboration & Documentation:

• Collaborate closely with development, QA, and operations teams to streamline release processes. 
• Document pipeline configurations, deployment procedures, and troubleshooting guides. 

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. 
• 4-8 years of hands-on experience in a DevOps role.
• Strong expertise in Azure DevOps, including pipeline creation, YAML pipelines, and agent management.
• Proficient in deploying and managing applications on Azure Container Apps and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
• Experience with Azure VMs, Azure Service Bus Queues, Azure Entra, OAuth, and Azure Key Vault.
• Solid understanding and experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaaC) tools (e.g., ARM templates, Bicep, Terraform). 
• Experience in deploying and maintaining MongoDB.
• Familiarity with Python (especially for AI/ML API deployments) and Node.js application architectures and deployment considerations. 
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex issues in distributed systems.
• Understanding of secure deployment practices and security best practices for cloud environments.
• Experience with cost monitoring and optimization in Azure.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
