As a software Engineer II, you'll be responsible for developing managed end to end services, supporting our internal customers. You will work closely with Cloud Engineers, Product Engineers, Data science and DevOps to manage projects, provide creative solutions, and develop successful implementations as per their needs.

As a Software Engineer II, you will be responsible for:

• Developing front end web applications using JavaScript (React, Chakra UI) on a Python backend (Flask).
• Building visualization dashboards
• Developing schemas, migrations, and manage SQL and NoSQL databases (REDIS and/or Cassandra, Postgres).
• Architecting modular services; Use Agile methodologies, DevOps, Continuous Integration.
• Integrating AWS and/or other cloud services.
• Working with cross-functional teams where quality and availability are key capabilities.

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• 3+ years of relevant experience and a bachelors degree in a related field.
• Have hands on experience JavaScript (Nodejs), Webpack, React, Python
• Have experience with Object Oriented Programming and test-driven development using JavaScript, Python Flask, and asynchronous programming.
• Have a passion to understand, learn, and dissect new technologies quickly on your own.
• Possess good communication skills, be self-driven, positive and an effective team player.
• Be knowledgeable of distributed systems and parallel programming

Compensation

Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For US based candidates only - the base salary for this position ranges from $83,800 - $174,200/year; a candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. Compensation for candidates outside the US will vary. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
