Role overview

Working within the Credit Risk, Pricing & Data team, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining robust ETL processes, data flows, and core data infrastructure that enable smooth business operations and informed decision-making.

You will work closely with stakeholders across the business to understand their data, MI, and insight needs. By translating business requirements into actionable data solutions, you will deliver high-impact reporting, dashboards, and analysis that inform strategic decisions and drive performance improvements.

This role offers a high level of independence, with the opportunity to take ownership of tasks, contribute ideas, and help improve the way we use data across the business.

Job details:

  • While the responsibilities of the role will be dynamic and develop as you grow your career, we have managed to narrow it down to 5 subcategories:
  • Design & Own Data Pipelines - Build, maintain, and monitor end-to-end ETL processes and data flows from source systems into our core database environment—laying the foundation for reliable, high-quality data across the business.
  • Drive Smart Architecture: Optimise our data warehouse for performance and scalability—reducing costs while unlocking greater value and efficiency for every team that relies on it.
  • Champion Data Excellence: Lead the implementation of a best-in-class framework for data quality, integrity, reconciliation, and governance—ensuring our data is accurate, compliant, and audit-ready.
  • Deliver Insight That Matters: Create impactful reporting, dashboards, and analytics that drive strategic decisions, uncover opportunities, and empower teams to perform at their best.
  • Be the Go-To Data Expert: Act as a trusted data expert, supporting stakeholders across the business and helping foster a culture that’s truly data-driven. Challenge assumptions, recommend approaches, and help shape data-driven decisions

Essential skills/experience:

  • Agile and Adaptive Mindset: You operate with flexibility and confidence in fast-changing environments, shifting between priorities while consistently delivering high-quality work.
  • Problem-Solving Powerhouse: You bring a proactive, solution-oriented mindset with a strong sense of initiative—able to tackle complex data challenges independently and creatively.
  • Advanced SQL Capability: You’re proficient in writing complex SQL queries, optimising performance, and working with nested, partitioned, or unstructured data. Experience with other languages such as Python, R, JavaScript, or XSLT is a plus.
  • Cloud-Native Data Skills: Hands-on experience with cloud-based SQL environments (e.g. BigQuery, Snowflake, Azure SQL, AWS Redshift) and managing large-scale datasets with performance and scalability in mind.
  • Confident Communicator & Collaborator: You can distil complex data into clear, compelling insights and communicate confidently with both technical and non-technical
  • While we are not necessarily looking for someone with direct experience in Consumer Lending, experience in the financial services is a necessity.
