Job Description:

Data Solutions – Lead Data Engineer

Design, develop, deploy and support leading data and analytical solutions that are high-quality, fully performing and compliant with all standards and best practices in support of our business. Work independently and applies leading data and analytical skills, tools, practices, and techniques to all deliverables. Exhibits a strong understanding of data and analytical concepts such as: data architecture, development, testing, governance, security with a focus on learning more about these domains. Partner with U.S. IT and business groups to advance our strategy of realizing business value from data and utilizing data as a strategic asset. Ability to focus on task at hand, follow-through on prescribed plan with ability to be flexible and think under pressure. Highly motivated team player with a strong desire to learn, grow, and continuously improve.

Technical Skills

  • 5+ years experience with SQL.

  • 5+ Experience with ETL/ELT tools such as Informatica, SSIS  etc.

  • Experience with BI tools not limited to SSRS, Tableau, Business Objects, LOGI, PowerBI, Quicksight etc.

  • Experience with R, Python would be preferred. 

  • Experience Snowflake would be preferred.

  • Experience with AWS would be preferred

  • Ability to lead, drive and deliver data-informed product strategies within a team or as an individual contributor.

  • Remain current with technology trends and influence change across U.S. IT

  • Requires strong communication skills, both verbal and written, organizational skills, interpersonal skills.

  • Demonstrated aptitude towards problem identification, resolution and comprehension and interpretation of technical procedures.

  • Understanding of data governance, data protection, privacy and security best practices

  • Technically minded problem solver

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, deploy and/or maintain leading data and analytical solutions that are high-quality, innovative, efficient, secure, creative, scalable, adaptable, dynamic, fully performing and comply with all standards and best practices in support of business and Client outcomes and objectives

  • Proven ability to work closely with Business organizations and lead a team to deliver on business needs.

  • Drive U.S. IT and U.S. business groups to deliver data-informed product strategies 

  • Execute full software and product development life cycle (SDLC) and lead continuous improvements leveraging Agile best practices

  • Write advanced well-designed, testable, flexible, and scalable data solutions

  • Participate in data architecture design, data analysis, development and testing.

  • Produce technical specifications and determine operational feasibility.

  • Integrate leading software components into a fully functional software system

  • Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems

  • Evaluate business and client feedback

  • Effectively mentor other engineers

  • Augment existing data sets with other data sources (i.e. external) to make reusable data assets

  • Lead a "data-first" approach to problem solving and designing IT solutions

Qualifications

  • Requires BS/BA degree or equivalent experience. 

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in a data driven technical role. 

  • 3+ years experience in a senior engineer capacity
