The Associate Director of Data Analytics (AD) is responsible for comprehensively managing admissions data for the McDonough School of Business (MSB) Graduate Degree Programs. This encompasses gathering, organizing, analyzing, promoting, and integrating data to drive informed decision-making. This role will leverage data analytics to ensure the admissions team make informed decisions when recruiting, selecting, and crafting cohorts for graduate degree programs at MSB. This employee will possess a deep understanding of our back-end systems such as TargetX, Salesforce, Marketo, ScheduleOnce, and integrate and organize the data flowing through these systems to help the admissions team make informed decisions and increase the probability of success of bringing quality students to our programs.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Maintain organized and accessible datasets for all Graduate Degree admissions metrics.

  • Provide regular and ad-hoc reporting to support admissions and scholarship decisions.

  • Promote data literacy and empower teams with tools and training.

  • Design and implement models to predict application volume, yield, deposit numbers, and scholarship impact.

Work Interactions

The AD reports directly to the Senior Director of Budgets and Data Analytics.

This position relies on the recruitment, admissions, and careers teams’ discrete data collection about our prospects, applicants, and students. Close collaboration with key stakeholders within admissions is expected, including working closely with the Associate Dean and Managing Director of Graduate & Executive Degree Programs, the Associate Dean of Graduate and Executive Degree Program Admissions, the Associate Dean for MBA Admissions, and the Assistant Dean for MBA Admissions.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 2-4 years’ experience in data analysis, reporting, or institutional research

  • Strong skills in Excel and PowerPoint

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills

  • Ability to communicate complex data findings to non-technical audiences effectively

  • Proficiency in statistical concepts, data visualization and/or analysis tools and languages (e.g. SQL, R, Python, Tableau)

  • Strong information presentation skills, both in writing and in visuals (e.g. Word, PowerPoint, Tableau, Illustrator, etc.)

  • Experienced and comfortable presenting and facilitating conversations with senior or executive-level colleagues

Preferred qualifications (if applicable)

  • Statistical modeling experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Business, or other disciplines that engendered an understanding of technology systems

Pay Range:

The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:

$44,022.00 - $73,406.80

Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
