The Position

Finance play a pivotal role as an enabling function, navigating a diverse and complex value chain efficiently and effectively  in support of goal congruent investments,  this is essential to the success for the Roche Group as a science lead company. Moreover, as our innovation pipeline grows in its disease therapeutic diversity and technology platforms, Finance must play a critical role in ensuring relentless investments in areas that will drive step change, and be multiplicative rather than additive.

In line with the vision laid out in the Finance White Paper, the R&D Finance Network supports PD, gRED, pRED & CiCoR and is focused on Finance Enterprise Partnering, advocating strong, trustful relationships based on a shared commitment to greater impact for patients as a whole company. This R&D Finance operating model will enable Finance Enterprise partners to work as a network in one team.

R&D Finance fosters and promotes talents that are self-starters with an ability to provide the right analytics and insights which enable the right resource allocation and trade-offs that maximise portfolio value and patient impact. All the while delivering a high-level of financial expertise and an ability to explore and design innovative solutions to support R&D investments decision making and Financial processes. In this role, you will have interactions with senior finance leaders and influence decision-making. You will be part of a global organisation and enhance your connection within Roche Finance. You will have the opportunity to gain exposure and business partner to different functions and communities. This opportunity serves as a great ‘springboard’ for a broader R&D Finance career and Roche career at large.

Your main responsibilities are:

• Closely partners with the R&D FEPs and eCoE supporting Analytics & Insights needs and deliverables

• Build close and trusted relationships with the FEP community and with members of eCoE

• Support the accuracy and integrity of our financial data (validation, accurate recognition)

• Explore and contribute towards innovative solutions for troubleshooting / ad-hoc / recurring requests from Business and Finance

• Support FEPs on strategic priorities (e.g. Capacity Exercise, Study Excellence, RDE, ASPIRE) with data, analytics and insights

• Support cleanup activities and ongoing Financial outcomes

• Help deliver and advance the collaboration model between R&D Finance, eCoE and other finance units

• Build (and dissolve) networks across the local and global organisation to drive important business outcomes and initiatives

• Accelerate innovation and contribute towards a true Digital Culture across the R&D Finance network

Who you are

As a Finance Insights & Data Analyst and member of the R&D Finance Network, you demonstrate strong analytical skills and possess R&D experience or strong interest to learn R&D. You will bring a flexible working approach with an ability to pivot to where support is needed.  You are a self-starter and have the ability to flex beyond immediate job scope. You are detail-oriented and comfortable working with a large dataset. You will exhibit abilities to navigate a dynamic environment and work across various systems, constantly  exploring innovative solutions to streamline work and drive efficiencies . In addition, you bring the following core skills: 

• You hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Business-related discipline - MA/MBA preferred

• 3+ years of experience in Finance preferably in a global setting

• Strong foundational finance and accounting expertise

• Strong analytical skills and experience or strong interest to learn R&D

• Strong modelling capabilities and tool mastery (SAP, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.)

• Ability to ensure integrity of financials and adherence to key processes

Furthermore, you possess business acumen and entrepreneurial spirit and you have a collaborative, curious mindset and ability to connect the dots. You have strong communication skills, storytelling and ability to influence.
