About the role of Enterprise AI & Data Governance Analyst II
The Enterprise AI & Data Governance Analyst II will support the organization through AI & Data Governance policy creation, implementation, compliance monitoring, data lifecycle management, and reporting. In this crucial role, you will work closely with management, senior analysts, team members, and stakeholders to implement and ensure adherence to AI and Data Governance policies, procedures, regulatory standards, and corporate governance best practices. The Analyst will be a key member of the team supporting Premera’s ability to adapt quickly to changing requirements and challenges, ensuring that we maintain a high level of efficiency and effectiveness in our governance practices.
What you’ll do:
- Drive the creation, review, analysis, and execution of governance policies and compliance procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and compliance with governance initiatives, policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and objectives.
- Proactively monitor governance processes and identify risks and opportunities.
- Assist in audits and risk assessments to evaluate adherence to governance policies and regulatory requirements.
- Educate employees on Governance policies and procedures to promote compliance, data literacy, and responsible data handling.
- Communicate project details for clear understanding and participate in proactively identifying opportunities and initiating changes/enhancements to project documentation and coordination.
- Maintain data lifecycle management policies, including data retention periods, data classification, and data archival, and data deletion processes and ensure adherence.
- Perform data profiling, validation, and quality checks to ensure the reliability of analytics datasets.
- Oversee and/or influence team members on assigned projects to provide support and ensure effective collaboration of efforts and timely completion of tasks.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to governance activities.
- Drive AI and Data Governance-related projects; Review and evaluate project plans and processes to identify trends, ensure compliance, and make recommendations. Address inquiries about project tasks, deliverables, status, and procedures to ensure timely completion and improve processes.
- Create, update, and enhance the Data Catalog ensuring datasets are properly tagged, classified and accessible for analytics and reporting purposes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What you’ll bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in information science, data management, computer science, or related field, or four (4) years’ equivalent and related job experience may be used in lieu of education requirements. (Required)
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a related field. (Required)
- Relevant experience in the health care industry and/or assigned work area such as Data Management, Business Analysis, Project Management, Analytics, Relational Databases, Information Technology, Computer Science, Finance, Sales, Marketing, Legal, or Operations. (Preferred)
- RDBMS like SQL Server or Oracle; Data Warehousing or Data Lake (Snowflake) experience. (Preferred)
- Strong ability to work effectively, timely, and professionally with team members, management, business leaders, and third-party vendors
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated ability to execute change management concepts and strategies, including communication of project rollouts and cultural change initiatives.
- Technical curiosity
- Skill operating a computer in a Windows environment utilizing Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, and/or Power Point, depending on needs of assignment.
- Proven ability to work both independently and as a member of a team to prioritize work
- Proficiency in data analysis techniques and tools
- Thorough knowledge of reporting or query programming language, relational databases, database design principles, and/or related software packages; demonstrated ability to learn other computer languages and/or software systems; experience in data management a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to deal with management of various levels.
- Ability to interact effectively across department lines and with all levels of management.
- Proven organization skills to multitask while maintaining strong attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information.
- Ability to understand, analyze and effectively apply concepts in project management, accounting, and healthcare disciplines.
Working Environment
- Work is performed within a normal office environment with ambient temperatures.
- Ability to work flexible hours to meet deadlines.

The pay for this role will vary based on a range of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s geographic location, market conditions, and specific skills and experience.
The salary range for this role is posted below; we generally target up to and around the midpoint of the range.
National Salary Range:
$78,000.00 - $122,200.00National Plus Salary Range:
$81,900.00 - $139,200.00*National Plus salary range is used in higher cost of labor markets including Western Washington and Alaska.
