The Role

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Director of Data Architecture and Governance to lead our data governance initiatives. This role will be responsible for overseeing data products, data platforms, data governance administration, data solutions, and data project management. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data management, excellent leadership skills, and a proven track record of driving data governance strategies. As the Senior Director of Data Architecture and Governance, you will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity, security, and usability of our data assets. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement data governance policies, drive data quality improvements, and support the organization's data-driven decision-making processes. Your expertise will be instrumental in shaping the future of our data landscape and enabling the company to leverage data as a strategic asset. The ideal candidate should possess a strong understanding of artificial intelligence (AI) principles and demonstrate expertise in meshed hierarchical database architectures to effectively manage and optimize complex data systems.

This is a work from home position within the US. 

The Main Responsibilities

• Data Architecture: Designing and implementing data architectures that meet business needs, ensuring scalability, efficiency, and security. Developing data models, integration strategies, and data storage solutions. Working with ETL/ELT pipelines for data ingestion, processing, and storage.
• Data Platforms: Oversee the implementation and maintenance of data platforms that support data integration, storage, and analysis. Ensure platforms are optimized for performance and reliability. Collaborate with IT teams to ensure seamless integration of data platforms with existing systems.
• Data Governance Administration: Develop and enforce data governance policies and procedures. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices. Establish data stewardship and data quality frameworks. Conduct regular audits to ensure adherence to data governance standards.
• Data Solutions: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement data solutions that address business challenges. Provide guidance on data architecture, data modeling, and data integration. Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools to enhance data solutions.
• Data Project Management: Manage data governance projects from inception to completion. Develop project plans, allocate resources, and monitor progress to ensure timely delivery. Communicate project status and outcomes to stakeholders. Identify and mitigate risks associated with data governance projects.
• Leadership and Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of data governance professionals. Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the team. Provide training and development opportunities to enhance team members' skills and knowledge.

What We Look For in a Candidate

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
• 15+ years of experience in data management, data governance, or a related field.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to develop and implement data governance strategies.
• Experience with data platforms, data integration, data architecture, and structuring of data within databases for optimal AI performance.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry best practices in data governance.

Preferred Skills:

• Strong proficiency in the entire Microsoft Suite, especially PowerPoint with strong executive presentation skills.
• Experience with data analytics and business intelligence tools.
• Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms and services.
• Certification in data governance or data management (e.g., CDMP, DGSP).

Compensation

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

Location Based Pay Ranges

$171,447 - $228,596 in these states: AL  AR  AZ  FL  GA  IA  ID  IN  KS  KY  LA  ME  MO  MS  MT  ND  NE  NM  OH  OK  PA  SC  SD  TN  UT  VT  WI  WV  WY 
$180,020 - $240,026 in these states: CO  HI  MI  MN  NC  NH  NV  OR  RI 
$188,592 - $251,456 in these states: AK  CA  CT  DC  DE  IL  MA  MD  NJ  NY  TX  VA  WA
