This role is based on-site at our Ridgefield, CT location with hybrid flexibility of 2-3 days per week on-site.

The Sr. Associate Director, Data Governance defines Boehringer's third party data acquisition road-map inclusive of formulating 1-5 year horizon data acquisition plans. Develops budget plans and identifies strategic data assets that meet Boehringer's current and launch products portfolio. Also, leads the the US Human Pharma specialty pharmacy/distributor data aggregation strategy and information management processes; and leads data governance processes for products, market definition, and 3rd party digital identity data. Identifies and determines alternatives for vendors and data acquisitions based on informed and systematic analysis and collaboration with internal stakeholders. Negotiates contracts with vendors. Responsible for balancing and maximizing data purchasing effectiveness and driving down overall US HP data acquisition and management costs. Duties & Responsibilities

  • Defines BI third party data acquisition strategy and responsible for balancing and maximizing data purchasing effectiveness and driving down overall US HP data acquisition and management costs.
  • Develop the US Human Pharma specialty pharmacy/ distributor data aggregation strategy and design and manage the business processes to de-identify and aggregate specialty pharmacy data.
  • Provide data consulting expertise to US Human Pharma analytical, incentive compensation and reporting functions.
  • Recommend best practices for data usage and drive US HP's integrated data strategy to maximize analytical and reporting strategic value.
  • Lead Information Management team members and Shared Services in establishing data standards and performing information management for third party data, specialty pharmacy data, products, and digital customer identity data.
  • Lead data governance processes for products, market definition, formulary, specialty pharmacy data, and identity data for digital initiatives.
  • Lead the cross functional team of sales leadership, brand leadership, AI leadership and Operations to gain alignment of market definitions.
  • Lead data governance of products and market definitions and ensure process alignment and adoption by all US HP consumers in Analytics, Reporting, Marketing, Sales and Operations.
  • Develop the data purchasing strategy for new product launches by understanding the products competitive market landscape to support strategic decision making.
  • Proactively search the industry for alternative third party data sources to meet competitive challenges and improve internal decision making.
  • Manage data vendors regarding data accuracy, timing, delivery, performance and / or contract issues.
  • Identifies emerging pharmaceutical industry data sources, evaluates its effectiveness in business practices the recommends its use across US Human Pharma.
  • Ensures best practices of third party data usage. Accountable negotiating third party data vendor pricing in support of sales analytics, managed markets, market research and other various analytical departments.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited institution and a minimum of nine plus (9+) years of experience in pharmaceutical industry is required
  • Master's degree from an accredit institution and a minimum of seven plus (7+) years of experience in pharmaceutical industry
  • Masters degree preferred.
  • Must have seven plus (7+) years of related pharmaceutical industry experience with five (5) years of secondary data experience in sales operations, sales/marketing analytics, market research, specialty pharmacy, managed markets or business analysis.
  • Working knowledge of third party sub-national data sets used to support sales and marketing. Experience with specialty pharmacy and distributor data.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading teams and influencing upward.
  • Ability to manage multiple large vendors and hold them accountable for data accuracy and meeting deliverable.
  • Prior data governance experience strongly preferred.
  • Prior budgeting experience helpful.

Compensation Data:

This position offers a base salary typically between  $170,000 and $269,000.  The position may be eligible for a role specific variable or performance-based bonus and or other compensation elements.
