Technician IV - Basran Lab

   

The Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine seeks a Laboratory Technician to support the Basran Lab. This technician will be responsible for assisting in the development of multi-modal machine learning models in the veterinary setting, focusing on medical image analysis for feline diseases. The technician must also have a strong background in physics and medicine, including radiation transport, knowledge of radiation oncology treatment planning systems, and radiation measurement techniques. 

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in related field with 2-4 years of experience or equivalent combination

• Strong background in computing science and physics

• Ability to cultivate and develop inclusive working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community members.

• Familiarity with image processing, data processing methods using Python, Java, and Matlab. 

• Familiarity with radiation dose transport software, such as Varian Eclipse or (GEANT4) Monte Carlo packages.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelors of Science in Physics or Applied Physics

Important Details about the Position

• This is an onsite position located in Ithaca, NY.

• This is a full-time one-year term position with potential for extension contingent upon funding and performance.

• We are unable to provide Visa sponsorship, now or in the future, for this position.

• Relocation assistance will not be provided for this position.

While the regular business hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, the specific schedule may change to meet the needs of the business, requiring employees to work early mornings, evenings, weekends and University holidays and scheduled breaks.
