About the role

The AI Platform Engineering team is a pioneering group dedicated to creating the next generation of intelligent, adaptable systems that will transform our organization's data and analytics landscape. Our mission is to architect and deliver a highly scalable platform featuring a Knowledge Base, LLM (Large Language Model) Orchestration, Guardrails Service, Evaluation Framework, and Agentic AI agents.

As a Senior Backend Engineer on this team, you will play a central role in shaping an end-to-end AI infrastructure that empowers a wide range of business functions—from real-time knowledge retrieval and automated decision-making, to advanced safety mechanisms and rigorous model evaluation. Through robust engineering, cutting-edge orchestration, and thoughtful system design, you will enable the platform to deliver intelligent, reliable, and ethical AI-powered experiences for users across diverse domains.

Collaborating with data scientists, product managers, and fellow engineers, you will design and implement backend services that are secure, resilient, and performant at scale. Your work will enable rapid experimentation, continuous evaluation, and seamless integration of the latest AI technologies, ensuring our solutions stay ahead in a fast-evolving landscape.

This is a rare opportunity to have a foundational impact on our AI capabilities and to help define the standards for transparency, safety, and performance in production AI systems. If you are passionate about building platforms that combine engineering excellence with the power of modern artificial intelligence, we invite you to join the AI Platform Engineering team and help shape the future of data-driven innovation at Coalition.

  • Collaborate with other engineering teams across the organization to power AI-driven agentic experiences and automation, ensuring consistent standards and seamless integration
  • Collaborate closely with Site Reliability Engineers (SREs) to ensure the platform meets the highest standards of availability, observability, and operational excellence throughout the software lifecycle
  • Proactively drive the adoption of best practices in API security, model evaluation, and safe/ethical AI usage across the platform
  • Continuously raise the bar by addressing unforeseen challenges, driving process improvements, and contributing to the development culture and success of the AI Platform Engineering team
