Position Summary
The Director of Data & Analytics (IT) will play a transformative leadership role in shaping and executing the enterprise-wide data strategy. This individual will be responsible for unifying fragmented data systems, aligning business and IT priorities, and enabling scalable, trusted analytics capabilities that drive performance, decision making and innovation. As a highly visible leader, the Director will champion a culture of data stewardship, quality, and collaboration, ensuring that data is not only accurate and accessible, but also strategically leveraged to fuel decision-making, process efficiency, and long-term value creation.
This role will oversee the design and delivery of robust data architectures, semantic models, and governance frameworks that serve as the foundation for advanced analytics, reporting, integrated business planning, and AI/ML initiatives. The Director will lead a central data engineering team and act as a strategic partner to business unit leaders—bridging organizational silos, harmonizing key metrics and definitions, and guiding the enterprise toward a unified, data-driven future.
Success in this role will be defined by the ability to elevate data from a fragmented asset to a strategic enabler—empowering both IT and business teams to make faster, smarter, and more consistent decisions.
Accountabilities
- Strategic & Cross-Functional Leadership
- Lead and define the Edgewell data analytics vision and strategy
- Serve as a bridge between IT and business functions to align priorities and roadmap.
- Lead cross-functional working sessions with SMEs, tech/functional teams, and business D&A partners.
- Navigate competing needs and complex scenarios to drive alignment and pragmatic solutions.
- Act as the Edgewell wide steward for semantic consistency, shared definitions, and key metrics.
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team by setting clear goals, providing regular feedback, and fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and professional growth.
- 2. Technical Ownership & Delivery Enablement
- Define and maintain enterprise data architecture, pipelines, and transformation layers.
- Own the creation of a semantic data layer that translates raw data into business-ready models and structures.
- Ensure consistency and interoperability across platforms (e.g., BI, reporting, AI).
- Lead the central data engineering team to deliver curated, governed, and reusable data assets.
- 3. Leads Data Strategy & Stewardship
- Partner with functional leaders to define shared metrics, data domains, and usage policies.
- Establish a semantic foundation to ensure all teams are “speaking the same language.”
- Promote data trust, quality, and traceability through business-friendly frameworks and tooling.
- Align technical delivery with business priorities through a collaborative data operating model.
Required Skills and Experience
- BA, BS Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Engineering or similar
- 10+ years experience of leading technology strategy & execution
- 5+ years experience developing/managing technology projects through complete SDLC
- Expert level knowledge of Data Warehousing, Analytics Reporting and SAP data solutions
- Proven track record of working with multiple stakeholders to deliver results
- Ability to use project management methodologies - agile and waterfall
- Demonstrated ability to use tool sets across multiple projects
- Experience with tools to analyze, manipulate and visualize datasets (e.g. SQL, Excel/Sheets, Python, Splunk, Tableau, PowerBI)
- 5+ years of leadership and team management
Preferred Skills and Experience
- MS or MBA Business, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Engineering
- Expertise with analytics tools, data visualization, SQL, R, or Python, Databricks as applied to data science and analytics
- Knowledge of data models, experimental design, and execution
- Experience of the implementation of data stewardship, including master data management, data quality, data dictionaries and ETL tools
- Azure Data lake architecture and deployment experience to drive advanced analytics
The salary range for this position is $160,000-240,000 Actual base salary offered to a candidate may vary based upon factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance.
