This is a senior leadership role, and the ideal candidate will bring a strategic mindset combined with hands-on expertise in modern technologies to drive the transformation of how analytical data is digitized, processed, and leveraged through automation. The role requires strong leadership, technical acumen, and the ability to navigate both tactical and strategic initiatives within a rapidly evolving tech landscape. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of a key technical initiative within our organization, directly impacting both internal operations and client-facing products. You will work with global staff of software engineers across “value streams” and partner with your Product Management and Quality peers to support a large, global group of agile scrum teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Strategy:
    • Lead and inspire a multidisciplinary team of developers, engineers, data scientists, and analysts focused on data digitization and automation efforts.
    • Define and communicate the vision, strategy, and roadmap for the team’s initiatives, aligning with broader organizational goals.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between business objectives and technical execution.

  • Data Digitization:
    • Oversee the transformation of manual or legacy data sources into structured, digitized formats for improved access, efficiency, and analytics.
    • Implement and scale systems for analytical data capture, ensuring high-quality, accurate, and scalable digitization processes.
    • Ensure adherence to data governance standards, security protocols, and compliance requirements while digitizing sensitive data.

  • Automation:
    • Drive the automation of workflows, reporting, and business processes to eliminate manual intervention and improve operational efficiency.
    • Lead the design and implementation of robotic process automation (RPA) or other automation technologies to streamline repetitive tasks and improve productivity.
    • Champion the integration of automation tools with existing systems and infrastructure for seamless operations.

  • Technology & Innovation:
    • Stay up to date on the latest trends and innovations in data technology, machine learning, AI, and process automation.
    • Evaluate and select appropriate tools and platforms that support data digitization and automation needs, optimizing cost, scalability, and functionality.
    • Encourage a culture of continuous improvement by exploring new methodologies and tools to improve team capabilities and outcomes.

  • Collaboration & Communication:
    • Act as the key liaison between the technical team and senior leadership, ensuring clear communication of progress, challenges, and results.
    • Establish metrics and KPIs to measure the success and impact of digitization and automation initiatives.
    • Provide mentoring, guidance, and career development support for team members to help them achieve their full potential.
    • Manage and resolve dependencies across teams, ensuring smooth and efficient project execution.

  • Problem Solving & Optimization:
    • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring the effective and timely resolution of challenges that arise during implementation.
    • Proactively identify opportunities for optimization and process improvements, driving continuous iteration and refinement of systems and workflows.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • Experience:
    • 15+ years of experience in a technology leadership role with a strong focus on data digitization, automation, and process transformation.
    • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and engage teams across multiple disciplines.
    • Proven experience leading teams in delivering data-centric and automation projects, from concept to execution.
    • In-depth knowledge of data engineering, cloud platforms, and automation tools.
    • Experience with AI, machine learning, and RPA technologies is highly desirable.
    • Strong understanding of data governance, security practices, and compliance regulations (GDPR, HIPAA, etc.).

  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, SQL, etc.), automation frameworks (e.g., UiPath, Blue Prism, Automation Anywhere), and data management platforms.
    • Familiarity with cloud-based technologies (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and big data technologies.
    • Strong knowledge of APIs, system integrations, and microservices architectures.
    • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.

  • Leadership & Soft Skills:
    • Strong leadership abilities with a track record of building and managing high-performing teams.
    • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
