JOB LOCATION: 10353 Richmond Ave., Houston, TX 77042 [and various unanticipated locations throughout the U.S.; may work from home]
DUTIES: Lead BI projects, devise strategies to integrate data warehouses, and refine data analytic solutions. Transform data into products that power a unified platform for strategic business decision-making. Develop architectural blueprints and strategic plans for deploying enterprise cloud data warehouses and Business Intelligence (BI) platforms. Identify opportunities, set project priorities, and achieve targeted outcomes. Work with data modelers and ETL specialists to guide the design and development of data warehouse models and business analytics models for OneBI. Direct the migration of Oracle data warehouses and BI platforms from an on-premises setup to a cloud-based system on Snowflake. Execute proof-of-concept evaluations for data integration and BI tools and guide the selection of advanced cloud technology solutions. Investigate and evaluate tools for data cataloging, virtualization, and semantics. Facilitate the development of self-service analytics platforms using Alation, Denodo, Starburst, At-Scale, Qlik, and Pyramid analytics. Implement Change Data Capture (CDC) with Attunity and Qlik to enhance data processing efficiency. Design and execute cross-functional data models to address intricate business challenges in supply chain management and inventory tracking. Develop comprehensive architecture for the Application Portfolio Management (APO) framework to streamline application usage across various business units. Automate the integration of external data sources using Python. Collaborate with data scientists to establish efficient data pipelines. Develop predictive models for forecasting drill pipe failure rates, sales, and work order lead times using JMP and SAS. Incorporate machine learning techniques: regression, classification, and clustering. Establish standards and best practices for ETL, CDC, and reporting processes. Develop self-service analytics frameworks and platforms. Oversees six (6) direct reports including one (1) Lead Data Architect, one (1) Enterprise Systems Architect, one (1) Database Architect, and three (3) BI Data Integration Developers.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Requires a Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent degree, in Computer Science, Data Analytics, or Analytics and three (3) years of experience in the job offered, or three (3) years of experience in a related occupation leading BI projects, devising strategies to integrate data warehouses, and refining data analytic solutions; developing architectural blueprints and strategic plans for deploying enterprise cloud data warehouses and Business Intelligence (BI) platforms; directing the migration of Oracle data warehouses and BI platforms from an on premises setup to a cloud-based system on Snowflake; executing proof-of-concept evaluations for data integration and BI tools and guiding the selection of advanced cloud technology solutions; investigating and evaluating tools for data cataloging, virtualization, and semantics; and developing self-service analytics frameworks and platforms.
