Privacy Engineer, Health Data Governance

Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience working in a privacy related field (e.g., security engineering, data engineering, data scientist, compliance engineering etc.).
- 2 years of experience designing solutions for technological problems that maintain the privacy posture of the organization, leading teams across multiple workstreams.
- 2 years of experience leading the application of privacy technologies (e.g., differential privacy, automated access management solutions, etc.) to solve technical and data management problems, customizing existing solutions and frameworks to meet user needs.
Preferred qualifications:
- 4 years of experience in Software Engineering, Privacy and Security, Solutions Architecture, or Software Design.
- Ability to produce effective, well thought out privacy reviews and design solutions.

As a Privacy Engineer, you will help with building and improving a platform and a set of processes to continuously monitor the compliance posture of health data infrastructure at Google. This includes observability tools, proactive alerting, visualizations and reports for internal and external auditors to ensure compliance over time.

We bring together the best of Google technologies and AI, health behavior science, and user-centered design to help users organize the health and wellness data, get insight from it, and take action toward their health goals. We do this with a suite of apps, services, and health wearables. We aim to make consumer health more personal, proactive, and actionable.
Responsibilities
- Design, architect, and lead implementation of privacy-enhancing solutions to privacy problems alongside product and engineering teams.
- Conduct privacy assessments and drive privacy outcomes for products in the Google Health area.
- Develop, document, and communicate internal guidance, influence external standards, and interpret privacy and compliance design principles.
- Mentor and train other team members on privacy techniques and best practices.
- Work with considerations that require working with multiple cross-functional groups.
