The Energy Data & Analytics branch is actively recruiting a Senior Energy Analyst for its Models & Analytics team.
About You
This role will see you conducting comprehensive energy modelling and data analysis to support the development and evaluation of state energy policies, providing expert advice on market trends and implications of market outcomes, as well as developing an integrated, long-term view of likely future electricity market outcomes.
Beyond technical proficiency, effective communication and collaboration skills are essential for seamlessly working within a team environment and reporting advice.
A talent pool will be created to fill future roles in the Energy Data & Analytics to support other functions.
Essential Requirements
- Qualifications or relevant experience in mathematics, statistics, engineering, computer science, information management, finance, economics, or another relevant discipline.
Desired Requirements
- an understanding of local or international energy markets
- experience with energy market modelling software (e.g. PLEXOS, PROPHET etc.)
- experience with data analytics tools and programming languages such as Python, R, SQL
- experience with data management and visualisation software (e.g. MS Excel, PowerPivot, PowerBI, ArcGIS)
- The ability to learn and apply new analysis and modelling techniques as required.
